What’s New in KCET Counselling this year?

The counselling process for KCET has been changed as the qualified students would be filtered through 3 rounds.

Step 1- Candidates after successfully qualifying KCET 2018 exam, have to attend the KCET counselling, for verification of their documents at designated

Helpline Centers. This process will be done in offline mode.

Step 2- Verified candidates will be provided with a secret key and certificate submission form. This key will help the candidates to log in to the official portal and to lock their choices and preferences. After they have locked their choices the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) will provide them with the date to change or update their locked choices. This process will be done in online mode.

Step 3- The last step is to obtain the allotment order by the board. This KCET allotment order will bring the candidates closer to their admission in their desired college.

Supernumerary quota

This quota is entirely different from the seat matrix issued by KEA. 5% of the seats in each college and in each course will be reserved for the candidates whose annual income of the family and from all other sources of income is less than Rs 6 Lacs. All candidates including the ‘General category’ candidates are eligible to avail this quota.

This applies to all the engineering colleges. Under this quota, the tuition fee prescribed by the Government in that particular college will be waived off. A candidate has to pay the other fees only. This supernumerary quota though is not available for Architecture Course.
