KCET 2018 Application Form - Registration (Over), Fee, Form Correction

KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) released KCET Application Form 2018 in the month of February 2018. Last date to submit the duly filled application form online was March 22. KCET is scheduled for April 18 (Biology and Mathematics) and April 19 (Physics and Chemistry). Aadhaar is required compulsarily to fill KCET Application Form.

KCET is the state level common entrance test for candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Technology, B. Pharma, 2nd year B.Pharma, Pharma-D courses and Farm Science. KCET Medical Admissions are managed by KEA on the basis of NEET scores. KCET 2018 Form Correction Facility was provided from March 27-31. Candidates can download KCET 2018 Admit Card from the official site after April 06.

How to Apply for KCET 2018?

KCET 2018 Application Form is available at kea.kar.nic.in till March 22. Filling and submitting Application Form involves 5 steps including successful fee payment. 

KCET Application Form 2018 - Phase I

In the first phase, candidates can edit details in KCET application form 2018 any number of times. The first phase involves the following steps:

Step 1: KCET 2018 Registration

Candidates have to enter the following information to register for KCET:

  • Whether the student is a citizen of India? (Only Indian nationals can apply for KCET 2018)
  • Whether appeared for Karnataka 2nd PUC annual examination 2018 (Science)?
  • If yes, enter 13 digit ‘student number’ assigned by PUE department.
  • Enter the following details in KCET application form 2018: Candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, e-mail ID, user-ID, password, re-enter, secret question, answer, security code, re-enter security code.
  • Tick ‘I have downloaded the information booklet and I have read the instructions carefully’ to enter application online.
  • Click on ‘submit’ button.
  • The application number and user ID will be displayed on the screen. It will also be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
  • On the login page, enter user ID, password, security code and click on ‘login’ button.

Step 2: Filling online KCET application form 2018

Candidate’s name, mother’s name, father’s name, date of birth, Gender, mobile number and the email ID will already be mentioned in the application form.  Candidates will have to enter their choices of KCET Exam Centres 2018 in this step. Applicants have to enter the following details in KCET application form 2018:

Step 3: Uploading images in KCET application form 2018

In this step, applicants have to upload scanned images of their passport sized photograph (coloured), signature, thumb impression and signature of parents. The specifications of images to be uploaded in KCET application form 2018 are given below:

After completing above mentioned steps, applicants have to take a printout and carefully verify the entries. They can and make changes in KCET application form 2018, if required, before moving on to phase II.

After the scanned images are successfully uploaded, the declaration page will appear. One must review the form and read and understand the declaration carefully before finally clicking on submit as no changes in KCET 2018 application form will be allowed thereafter.

KCET Application Form 2018 - Phase II

In phase II, details can be edited only until signing of the declaration, after which, no changes in KCET 2018 application form will be entertained. Candidates will receive the application ID and password via mail and SMS. Phase II of filling KCET registration form 2018 includes the following steps:

Step 4: Payment of KCET 2018 application fee

After successfully submitting KCET application form 2018, applicants have to pay the required fee through e-challan to complete the application process. Candidates have to tick on ‘I agree’ and click on ‘next’ to make the fee payment. The application fee can be paid online via net banking till the last date of form submission. However, offline fee via bank challan or e-post office can be paid till February 28. The following steps are involved in payment-

  • Download and take a print out of the triplicate e-challan copy to make the payment.
  • Name of the candidate, CET number, college/course allotted details, payment amount and bank account number will be mentioned in the challan.
  • Make payment at the banks specified.
  • After payment, the bank will retain their copy and hand over the remaining two copies back to the candidate. The copies must be secured safely for future reference.

Note: List of banks specified by KEA for payment includes State Bank of India, Indian Bank and State Bank of Hyderabad.

KCET Application Form 2018 - Fee structure

KCET application fee varies across different categories. Apart from the below-mentioned application fee, candidates will have to pay additional bank charge of Rs. 10. Those paying at e-post office will be charged INR 12 extra.  Candidates can check KCET fee structure in the table below:

Step 4: Printout of KCET application form 2018

After making payment, candidates must take a printout of KCET application form 2018 in A-4 size paper and affix their recent passport sized photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression on the provided space. Students have to obtain principal's seal and signature of the institute from which they had passed the qualifying examination. It has to be produced during verification of documents along with the copy of bank challan (KEA copy). 

No part of the fee is refundable even in case of application form rejection.


KCET 2018 Form Correction

KCET Application Forms can be corrected on the official website. Candidates must submit the edited application forms by March 31, 2018. This window can be accessed once i.e. only one chance of editing the KCET Application Form will be given to the candidates. Karnataka CET 2018 Application Form can be corrected online only; no offline applications for correction of errors will be accepted.

In case, candidates want to change the category, then they have to pay a nominal fee through a DD in the favour of Executive Director, KEA. No changes can be made after confirming the declaration.

Candidates can follow the following steps to edit Karnataka CET 2018 Application Form:

  • Visit www.kea.kar.nic.in and click “Editing CET 2018 Application”
  • Enter User ID and generate OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Edit the fields you want to edit and select the “Declare Button”
  • Click the ‘Submit’ button to make sure that the changes are saved and submitted
  • Then print the edited KCET Application form

KCET 2018 Application Form Status

In order to check the KCET 2018 Application Form status, the candidates have to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the KCET Official website.
  2. Go to the Candidate login page.
  3. Enter KCET 2018 Application No. and Password

If the "Download Acknowledgement Page" link appears on the screen then it indicates that their KCET Application Form 2018 is accepted.

Ques. Are candidates from other states eligible to apply for KCET 2018?

Ans. For admission to seats in Government Colleges, candidates must fulfill one of conditions/eligibility criteria as stipulated by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) in Official Eligibility Clause issued by KEA. In general, candidates are expected to be domicile of state of Karnataka and completed their schooling from the same state. However, go through the full list of eligibility clauses to determine your eligibility.

Ques. Do candidates seeking admission to Medical/Architecture courses need to fill KCET Application Form?

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to Medical/Architecture courses can fill application form till March 22 or KEA is likely to re-open the portal for Medical and Architecture aspirants after declaration of NEET and NATA 2018 results. For admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses, candidates need to appear in NEET 2018 while for Architecture, candidates can either appear in NATA or JEE Main Paper – 2.

Ques. What are the fields I can modify during the Form Correction facility?

Ans. There is no limit on the number of fields that can be corrected during the form correction process. However, candidates are instructed to read details carefully about category reservation, Kannada, Rural, Special Category, etc. before making any changes. Also changes to preference for exam centers will be entertained depending on the current availability.
