    Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2021 will be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority. KCET 2021 will be conducted to determine the eligibility/merit of the appearing candidates for admission to various engineering, science and agricultural courses across the state of Karnataka.

    KCET 2021 is a state-level examination that will be held at various exam centres all over the state. The application form for KCET 2021 will be released by the exam authority in February 2021. Admissions for all courses except Medical and Architecture will be granted to aspirants who fulfil the eligibility criteria with their KCET 2021 scores. Here are the highlights of KCET 2021:

    • KCET 2021 Application Forms will be released by the exam authority in February 2021.
    • Aspirants are required to apply through online mode only; no provisions for offline mode applications are made.
    • The last date for filling in the application for KCET will be in March 2021.
    • KCET 2021 will take place in April.
    • The exam is conducted offline in pen-paper mode.
    • KCET 2021 will be conducted in two languages—English and Kannada—with 180 objective-type questions on Physics, Chemistry, Maths/ Biology.

    Aspirants who seek admission for first-year or first semester of full-time courses for Government share of seats in Engineering, Technology, Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy and Farm Science courses and candidates who seek admission for Medical and Pharmacy courses are required to apply through by using their NEET scores and JEE Main scores, respectively.     KCET 2021 Eligibility

    KCET 2021 Eligibility

    Eligibility for KCET 2021 is course-based, and the basic eligibility for different courses is listed below.

    For Engineering/Technology courses:

    • Aspirants must have qualified 10+2 or equivalent exams from a recognised Board/University.
    • Aspirants must have passed their 10+2/equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects and English as their language subject.
    • A minimum requirement of 45% marks for General category and 40% for SC/ST category in Physics, Mathematics along with either one subject from the following: Biology/Biotechnology/Electronics/Chemistry/Computer Science.

    For B.Pharma course:

    • Aspirants must have qualified 10+2 or equivalent exam, with PCB/PCM and English as language subject, from a recognised Board/University.
    • A minimum requirement of 50% marks for General category and 40% for SC/ST category for PCB group.

    KCET 2021 Registration

    KCET 2021 Application Form

    Aspirants are required to fill KCET 2021 application form within the stipulated time frame, i.e., from first week of February to first week of March. The process given below can be followed to successfully submit the application form.

    • Aspirants can register for KCET 2021 by visiting the official website.
    • Fill in all their details such as name, address, percentage in order to generate an application number and password.
    • Upload scanned copies of passport photo, signature and left-hand thumb impression in jpeg/jpg formats.
    • Pay the application free through either net banking or bank challan.
    • Print the KCET 2021 Application form for future use.

    KCET 2021 Application Fee

    Aspirants are required to pay the application fees through either net banking or bank challan. Below are the details with regard to the application fees of KCET 2021:

    • General category aspirants of Karnataka state are required to pay INR 500; SC/ST category aspirants are required to pay INR 250; and female aspirants are required to pay INR 250.
    • Aspirants outside of Karnataka are required to pay INR 750, whereas aspirants outside of India are required to pay INR 5,000.
    • Aspirants who process their fees through challan are required to print the challan copies and submit the bank challan copy to the bank and keep the rest two with themselves.
    • Aspirants from outside of India will have to process application fee by drawing a demand draft in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, payable at Bangalore.
    • The demand draft should then be sent to the Karnataka Exam Authority address along with the application number.
    • Aspirants who seek admission for Agriculture courses are required to pay additional practical test fees.
    • For general and OBC categories aspirants, the fee is INR 500.
    • For SC/ST category aspirants, the fee is INR 250.
    • This fee has to be paid in the form of demand draft during the document verification process.
    • The demand draft is to be drawn in the favour of the Comptroller of the respective university.

    KCET 2021 Photograph and Signature

    Aspirants are required to upload their scanned copies of passport-sized photo, signature and left-hand thumb impression in jpeg/jpg format. The table below explains the required specifications in terms of format and size:

    KCET 2021 Pattern

    KCET 2021 will be held in offline, pen-paper mode. The details of the exam are listed below:

    • There will be 60 multiple-choice questions for each section: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Kannada language (in case).
    • The time duration given for each section is 70 minutes, except for Kannada language which will have the duration of 50 minutes.
    • The marking scheme is simple; one mark for every correct answer.
    • There is neither a negative marking scheme nor any marks are deducted for selecting more than one option.

    KCET 2021 exam syllabus is based on first and second year of pre-university college subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology syllabi. The pre-university college syllabi should be prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

    KCET 2021 Admit Card

    KCET 20201 Admit Card

    KCET 20201 Admit card will be available from the second week of April 2021. KCET applicants will have to visit the official website in order to download their respective admit cards to be eligible for appearing the exam.

    The process below will help applicants to download their admit cards with ease:

    • Visit official website
    • Login by using application number and password as well as date of birth
    • Click on “Download KCET 2021 Admit Card”
    • Save and print around four copies

    Details such as roll number, name of the candidate, date of exam and exam centre is mentioned on the admit card. Aspirants are required to carry any one photo identity card with them to the exam hall from the following: Passport/Aadhar Card/PAN Card/College Identity Card/2nd PU/12th standard examination admission ticket. Aspirants are required to keep their KCET admit cards safe till they complete their KCET Counselling process.

    KCET 2021 will be conducted in 29 districts and 54 locations across the state of Karnataka. Candidates who have applied under the under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses, as well as Kannada language test, will have to select Bangalore as their exam centre.

    KCET 2021 Result

    KCET 2021 Results

    After the examination, the KCET 2021 provisional answer key will be released by authority. Aspirants can file their objects, if any, to the “Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore” before 30th April 2021.

    • The results for KCET 2021 will be declared approximately one month from the date of examination.
    • The result sheets will be separate for the mentioned courses/subjects.
    • KCET 2021 results will be declared online on their official website.
    • Aspirants can login by using their application number, date of birth and password to see their result sheet.
    • Different ranks for different courses will be given with consideration of subjects and participants.

    KCET 2021 Counselling Process

    Aspirants who will successfully clear the examination will be eligible to undergo the counselling process from the first week of June 2021.

    • As an initial part of the Counselling process, aspirants are required to lock their choice of college and course.
    • Also, the aspirants must fulfil the minimum eligibility and cut-off score to be eligible to undergo KCET 2021 Counselling process.
    • Aspirants are also advised to preserve their KCET admit cards and carry with them to the Counselling process.
    • All the information related to the Counselling process will be provided on the official website such as counselling dates, location, instructions and documents required during counselling.
    • The allotment process will grant seats to the eligible candidate in 267 Engineering colleges, 61 Pharmacy colleges and 39 Farm Science colleges.

    KCET 2021 Reservation of Seats

    Aspirants who will claim reservation will have to fulfil the eligibility for reservation criteria.

    • Candidates who applied under OBC, SC and ST categories will have to submit caste certificate/Caste income certificate issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tehsildar during document verification.
    • For candidates who applied under Rural category should have studied 10 full academic years from Class 1 to 10 from any recognised educational institute to be eligible for 15% government seats reservation.
    • Candidates who applied under Kannada medium should have studied 10 full academic years from Class 1 to 10 in Kannada medium from any recognised educational institute.
