Silk Road Summary
This lesson is about the journey of the author of this lesson- Nick Middleton. The Silk Road to Mt. Kailash is well known for its natural beauty even if the road is very rough and has sharp turns.
- The author hired Tsetan as his driver, who took South-West as a shortcut to Mt. Kailash. Though the road is bumpy, they hoped to reach safely as there are a little snow at that time.
- While traveling they had seen many animals, the tents of the Nomads, and the snow rivers. As they reached 5210 meters above sea level, the author felt uneasy and stopped for lunch.
- They had evening tea at a small town called Hor and stayed the night at Darchen, where the author had to visit a Tibetan doctor regarding his uneasiness due to high altitudes.
- From Darchen the author decided to continue his journey on Yak with another pilgrim Norbu.
