The Portrait of A Lady Summary

In this chapter, a perfect relationship between a grandmother and a grandson has been described. The author tried to create the perfect image of his grandmother with his words.

  • The author begins the lesson by describing her grandmother’s appearance. Then he moved on with the descriptions of how his grandmother used to prepare him for school and used to seat in the temple beside and read sacred texts for the time being.
  • In the next part of the lesson, the authors go on to describe the episode after they had moved to a city. In this part, he described how he began to grow apart from her grandma even after staying in the same room.
  • When after university, the author decided to move abroad for further study, he realized this might be the last time he can see his grandmother as she was old. But after 5years, when the author came back, he was welcomed by his grandmother.
  • But Grandmother passed away after a few days. Her lifeless body was found on the floor, wrapped in a red shawl.
