The Adventure Summary

Time Travelling is not an established theory, yet the author of this lesson Jayant Narlikar has created a perfect blend of history and science here. The central character of this story is Professor Gangadharpant Gaitonde, a history professor, and this story is all about his time-traveling adventures and imagination.

  • Professor Gangadharpant Gaitonde can time travel. In the beginning, he wanted to the past days of Bombay so that he can understand the history of Bombay city more appropriately.
  • He time-traveled to the past where he visited the Victoria Terminus Station and realized how different it was from the present. In this part, we get detailed descriptions of the station.
  • Next, the professor visited the East India Company Headquarters. through he could see a lot of British brands and offices are there, something made him confused. To get his thoughts straight, he visited a library and realized the British never ruled our country in this alternative past era.
  • After coming back to the present time, he shared his findings with his friend Professor Deshpande, who explained how the past can have a lot of dimensions.
  • At the end of the story the readers get to know that the professor is actually in a coma now, and as he was thinking about the Battle of Panipat just before his accident, these all imaginations are taking place.
