MAT September 2026 Registration: How to Apply Step by Step

MAT September 2026 registration is open at mat.aima.in from July 11, 2026, with the last date to apply for PBT mode on September 7, 2026 and for CBT mode on September 14, 2026.

AIMA conducts the Management Aptitude Test four times a year and the September 2026 session is now accepting applications. You can register for the Paper-Based Test (PBT), Computer-Based Test (CBT) or both modes through a single online form. The process takes about 15–20 minutes to complete and is available entirely at mat.aima.in.

Eligibility Criteria for MAT September 2026

AIMA keeps eligibility requirements broad so graduates from all streams can apply without restrictions on percentage or subject combination.

• Educational Qualification: A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university is required.
• Final Year Students: You can register and appear for MAT even if you are in the final year of your graduation programme. Proof of the qualifying degree must be submitted at the time of MBA admission.
• Minimum Marks: AIMA does not prescribe a minimum percentage for MAT registration. Individual participating institutes set their own admission cutoffs independently.
• Age Limit: There is no upper or lower age limit for MAT September 2026.
• Work Experience: Not mandatory for MAT. Some participating institutes may prefer applicants with prior work experience — check individual college prospectuses for their specific requirements.

How to Apply for MAT September 2026

The entire MAT September 2026 registration process is online at mat.aima.in. Follow the steps below in sequence and keep your documents ready before you begin to avoid interruptions mid-form.

1. Visit the official portal: Open mat.aima.in in your browser and click Register to create a new account.
2. Create your account: Enter your full name, valid email address and active mobile number. Set a strong password and submit the registration form.
3. Verify with OTP: Enter the one-time password sent to your registered mobile number to activate your account and access the applicant dashboard.
4. Log in and fill the application form: Sign in and enter your personal, academic and contact details. Cross-check all entries carefully before moving to the next section as corrections after submission are not guaranteed.
5. Choose your test mode: Select PBT, CBT or both. Registering for both modes lets you attempt the exam twice in the same session — PBT on September 13 and CBT on September 20.
6. Upload required documents: Upload a scanned passport-size photograph (10–50 KB, JPEG format) and your scanned signature (5–20 KB, JPEG format). Ensure both images meet the size and format requirements before uploading.
7. Select management institutes: Choose up to 5 institutes for a single mode registration or up to 7 institutes if you register for both PBT and CBT. AIMA sends your MAT score report directly to all institutes you select here.
8. Pay the application fee: Select your payment mode — credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI or Paytm wallet — and complete payment. The fee is ₹2,300 for one mode and ₹4,000 for both modes together.
9. Submit and save the acknowledgement: Click Submit to complete your registration. Download and print the confirmation page and note your application number — you will need it to download your admit card and track your application.

The registration fee depends on the number of test modes you select. No fee concession or waiver is available for any category and the fee is non-refundable once payment is made.

Payment is accepted online only. Modes accepted are credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI and Paytm wallet. Demand drafts and cash payments are not accepted by AIMA.

After Registration: What to Expect Next

Once your MAT September 2026 registration is confirmed, here is the sequence of key milestones before and after exam day.

• Confirmation Email: AIMA sends an acknowledgement to your registered email after successful payment and form submission. Save this as proof of registration.
• PBT Admit Card: Download from the applicant dashboard at mat.aima.in approximately 3 days before the exam — expected around September 10, 2026.
• CBT Admit Card: Available for download approximately 3 days before the CBT exam — expected around September 17, 2026.
• Exam Day: Carry a printed admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN card, passport or driving licence) to the exam venue. Entry is not permitted without both documents.
• Score Card: Released after the result announcement. Your MAT score is valid for one year from the date of the test. You can send your score to additional institutes on payment of a nominal fee through the official portal.
• Result: MAT September 2026 result is expected by late September 2026.
