Ques. Should I join IGDTUW Delhi mechanical and automation, or PEC Chandigarh civil branch? Which is better?

● Top Answer By Prerona Datta on 02 May 21

Ans. Both IGDTUW Delhi and PEC Chandigarh are reputed colleges and are equally good but both these courses are very different from each other.  If you are interested in higher studies and want to do M.Tech or Ph.D., then only opt for PEC civil. The pressure for studies would be less. You also have no restrictions in doing extracurricular activities. Here you can focus on other things besides studies, like on your hobbies or learning and developing a new skill or a new language which can be helpful in your career.  Here’s a brief overview of the courses mentioned in the question.  Parameters  PEC Chandigarh IGDTUW Delhi Average CTC 10.2 LPA 5.5 LPA Highest CTC 42 LPA 16 LPA Course Fee 3.45 lakhs  4.04 lakhs Hope this answer clears some of your doubts.Read more

Ques. Should I prefer JMI CSE or DTU mechanical?

● Top Answer By Sayantani Barman on 16 Apr 21

Ans. Among the above two institutes, for students interested specifically in computer science, JMI CSE should be a better option. But, students having no specific preference in streams should consider Mechanical at DTU.  The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the two departments of the institutes. Particulars CSE at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Delhi Mechanical Engineering at Delhi Technological University (DTU) NIRF ’20 Ranking 28 36 Total Fees (B.Tech) Rs. 64,600 Rs. 7.8 Lakhs Median Salary Offered Rs. 7.2 LPA Rs. 9 LPA Total Number of Seats 70 185 Key Highlights: As discussed above, students interested in Computer Science and IT should take JMI CSE, which generally has some decent opportunities. The top 7% of the batch gets more than 7 LPA package salary in JMI CSE. Students having no specific preference can choose DTU Mechanical, which provides a large amount of exposure inside the campus, along with several good opportunities during and after the course. Students at DTU Mechanical usually get a 7.5+ LPA package offer in some of the best companies working in the core mechanical sector. The course of DTU Mechanical is considered to be one of the best in India. JMI has much lesser fees than DTU, which makes it a lot of a more preferred option. For students successful in getting a decent placement offer at JMI, it provides a much better return on investment than DTU. Considering all the above factors, both the institutes have their own set of advantages and are worth considering.Read more

Ques. Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 16 Apr 21

Ans. Keeping the interest of students in mind, CSE at IIIT Delhi is definitely a better choice than a Mechanical Engineering degree at DTU. Considering the investments in time, money, and skills, the overall outcome of both the courses is considered in the points listed below. Their 4 years of study and investment for an engineering degree. After the four years, what they expect is the maximum success and happiness possible from the course. The overall outcome of the degree from the college is unpredictable. But, it is somewhat dependent on the skill-set made by the candidate, and his/her preparation during the course for placement. The education culture of IIIT Delhi is much better than DTU. The involvement of faculties and student’s interests towards the curriculum is what makes IIIT Delhi a more serious institution. Faculties from IIIT Delhi are leaned towards serious research works and are trained from foreign institutions in real-world issues. In IIIT Delhi, copying works and cheating in assessments are a lot less than in DTU, which results in a healthy learning environment. IIIT Delhi follows an updated curriculum in present times, supported by a top-notch infrastructure. IIIT Delhi makes students go through a rigorous workload during their course, which makes them much more prepared for circumstances. IIIT Delhi has an actual learning environment, which makes students stand out in life and tackle problems. Considering the departments of CSE and Mechanical, there are much more IT jobs in the industry than core mechanical jobs, and so CSE provides a much more return on investment. Considering all the above factors, CSE at IIIT Delhi is, without doubt, a much better choice among the two.Read more

Ques. Which is better, mechanical in BIT DURG or mining at NIT Raipur?

● Top Answer By Rishikesh Kumar on 15 Apr 21

Ans. The students can get better placement in NIT Raipur. One will get good opportunities and exposure in the mining branch too. Moreover, the experience at NIT is far better than BIT DURG. The curriculum followed by BIT DURG and even NIT Raipur is outdated. The institute is at least 10 years behind the current industry practice as compared to NIT Raipur. At least 30 years behind if we compare it with the US or European schools. The industry clientele had taken leaps and bounds in terms of technology and what the students study is old-era theories that have little relevance in practice now.  Many industries hire graduates through campus interviews, 1st train them for 3 to 6 months to prepare the students as per industry requirements and update the knowledge. The table shows a brief overview of the institutions: Particulars NIT Raipur BIT DURG Median Salary Rs. 9.5 lakhs Rs. 6.5 lakhs Highest Salary Rs. 33 lakhs Rs. 32 lakhs Entrance Criteria JEE Mains CPET Fees Rs. 5.52 lakhs Rs. 2.92 lakhs So overall, if the students are into mechanical or mining, don't rely too much on what the book taught you, be aware of current trends and practices.Read more

Ques. Which is the better choice for mechanical engineering, NIT Raipur or HBTU Kanpur?

● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 15 Apr 21

Ans. Having talked to people at NIT Raipur and HBTU Kanpur, I have gathered reasons why students should opt for NIT Raipur instead of HBTU Kanpur for B.Tech.  These are described below -  NIT has a brand value as it has a renowned name and fame, which will benefit you in many ways. There is a more competitive environment in NIT if compared to HTBU. There are more technical, cultural, and sports events in NIT than HTBU which helps the student to develop their personality and intelligence. NIT is a government-funded college so more funds are given to NITs, which help them to provide more facilities to the students like Advance labs and classes. The alumni reach of NIT is more than HBTU. The average placement of NIT Raipur is better than the HBTU.  Students can avail 100% fee waiver if the students have low family income. The table shows a brief overview of the institutions: Particulars NIT Raipur HBTU Kanpur Median Salary Rs. 9.5 lakhs Rs. 7.18 lakhs Highest Salary Rs. 33 lakhs Rs. 60 lakhs Entrance Criteria JEE Mains JEE Mains Fees Rs. 5.52 lakhs Rs. 5.17 lakhs Overall, NIT Raipur is the potential choice for B.Tech rather than HBTU Kanpur. Even students of HBTU also prefer NIT Raipur over their college.Read more
