Cancer is one of the most deadliest diseases in the world, accounting for millions of deaths annually. Cancer is a broad term that refers to a variety of disorders characterized by cellular dysfunction. It is a disorder in which cell proliferation is uncontrolled. Malignant neoplasm is the medical word for cancer, a large range of disorders involving uncontrolled cell proliferation, resulting in a "tumor."

Cancer is a term used to refer to diseases caused due to cellular irregularities. Cancer can begin in any of the trillion cells that make up the human body. When cells get old or damaged, they die and are replaced by new cells. However, this process is disrupted when cancer develops. When cells should die, they live on, and new cells form when they aren't needed. 

These excess cells can divide indefinitely, potentially forming tumors. Changes in genes that control how our cells function, particularly how they grow and divide, cause cancer. Accelerating cell division rates or remaining in normal control can result in gene mutations. The genes sometimes cause cancer we acquire from our parents.

Types of Tumors

tumors are characterized as carcinogenic or non-cancerous based on their potential to spread and are divided into three types:

Benign tumor

This sort of tumor is restricted to a certain area of the body. It does not spread to other parts of the body, and as a result, it is not as damaging. This tumor can appear anywhere in the body, including the brain, and it can be fatal. Surgery is one of the most popular procedures because benign tumors can be removed.

Malignant tumor

Malignant tumors are malignant, indicating that they have a bias for spreading to other parts of the body. Because of its great metastatic potential, it commonly enters the bloodstream, forming secondary tumors at various locations throughout the body.

Premalignant Tumors

This tumor is benign, yet it has characteristics of malignant tumors. This tumor has a higher chance of becoming cancerous, and benign tumors progress from benign to premalignant to malignant.

There are over a hundred different forms of cancer. They are named for the organs or tissues where cancer develops. Here are some cancer categories.

Carcinoma

Epithelial cells, which cover the interior and exterior surfaces of the body, form the lining. Different epithelial cells have different designations for carcinoma.

Sarcoma 

These cancers develop in the bones and soft tissues, such as the muscles, fat, lymph, cells, and fibrous tissue.

Melanoma 

Melanoma is a malignancy that starts in the melanocyte precursor cell, and it is the deadliest kind of skin cancer. Melanoma develops when the pigment cells that give skin its color turn malignant.

Lymphoma & Leukaemia

It comes from the cells that make up blood (such as b lymphocytes or white blood cells)
