Minerals and vitamins both are essential nutrients that are required in our diet. Vitamins are the organic compounds that are required for the growth and maintenance of the body. Vitamins play the role of catalysts to generate energy by utilizing fats and carbohydrates properly. Our body cannot produce vitamins on its own and we can't function without vitamins, therefore vitamins should be consumed in appropriate quantities through their food sources such as leafy vegetables, fruits, meat, etc. There are mainly two types of vitamins - fat-soluble and water-soluble. 

Minerals are organic compounds that are found in nature. They help in the growth of our human body. The deficiency of these minerals in our body causes various disorders. The various kinds of minerals are calcium, iodine, sodium, and phosphorus.
