WBJEE 2018 Merit List

WBJEE 2018 Merit List will be released online after the declaration of WBJEE Result 2018. WBJEE Board is the body responsible for publishing the Merit Rank of all eligible candidates who appeared in WBJEE On the basis of the merit list, candidates can take part in counselling process for seat allocation into different colleges.

Candidates must note that the merit list for medical courses will be based on NEET scores, as directed by Supreme Court. There will be 2 merit lists for engineering and pharmacy respectively. Candidates can check their merit list online on the official website of WBJEE i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in. The merit list for reserved categories will be separate.

How to check WBJEE Merit List 2018?

WBJEE 2018 Merit List will be released on June 5, 2018. It will be declared by WBJEEB on its official website. Candidates can refer to the below points in order to view their WBJEE 2018 Merit List:

  1. Visit the official website of WBJEE i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in
  2. Click on the link ‘WBJEE 2018 Merit List’
  3. Enter your roll number and date of birth
  4. Click submit

Guidelines for WBJEE Merit List 2018 (GMR)

  • The merit list is prepared out of the overall performance of the candidates in all the subjects.
  • Board will issue the merit list based on the marks scored by candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in WBJEE 2018.
  • The merit list is prepared based on decreasing order of the marks scored in the entrance exam.
  • WBJEE 2018 merit list 2018 will be published as General Merit Rank (GMR).
  • For WBJEE 2018 counselling and seat allotment process, only the GMR will be considered.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved classes will have a different list published for themselves.
  • If in case, two or more candidates get same ranks, inter-se-merit list ruled will be applied as the tie-breaking rule.
  • Candidates having their names in the JEE Main merit list 2018 will have 10% approved seats in all Self Financed Engineering & Technology Colleges of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2018 Reservation Details

The reservation of the seat for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD will depend upon the category of participating institutions. But, the admission to such category, one needs a domicile of West Bengal only i.e. the candidate must be the resident of the state only. Candidates claiming to such category must present relevant certificate during counselling, admission etc.


WBJEE 2018 Tie Breaking Rules for GMR

WBJEE Engineering Merit list will be displayed online and the list will be indicating the students name in descending order of the marks scored by them. Given below is the tie breaking parameters-

  • Less negative marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together, if the tie still doesn’t break, then
  • More positive marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together, if still the tie continues, then
  • More positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together, if the tie is not solved yet, then
  • Less negative marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together, if the rank persists the same, then
  • Less negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together, if the tie still prevails, then
  • More positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions, if still the tie remains, then
  • More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions, if the tie endures, then
  • More positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions, if the tie still pursues, then
  • Less negative marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions, if it still hold on the same, then
  • Less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions

    WBJEE 2018 Tie Breaking Rules for PMR

    The merit list for the candidates who have successfully cleared the exam for Pharmacy course will be declared online. The result will be declared in the descending order of marks obtained in WBJEE 2018 Scorecard. Following rules will be followed in case of a Tie:

    • Less negative marks in Physics & Chemistry
    • More positive marks in Chemistry
    • Less negative marks in Chemistry
    • More positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
    • Less negative marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
    • More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions
    • Less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions.

    If the ties still exists in GMR or PMR then Date of Birth (DOB) will be considered. The older candidate will be preferred over younger one.

    Ans. Using login credentials, candidates can check their seat allotment on the website. No, an individual letter will not be sent to the candidates regarding seat allotment.

    Q15. If the tie still persists after applying inter-se-merit rule then how will the candidates be given rank?

    Ans. If the tie persists after applying inter-se-merit rule then, the candidate’s date of birth will be considered. The older candidate will be given higher rank in the WBJEE merit list.
