WBJEE 2019 Merit List/ Rank List

WBJEE Merit List 2019 are released after the declaration of results of WBJEE. Based on the papers appeared in WBJEE 2019 followed by marks scored there of, two separate merit ranks is generated by the Board viz.

  • General Merit Rank (GMR)
  • Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)

Apart from merit list, each participating colleges will also release their own WBJEE Cut off 2019 as per program. Candidates qualifying the same will be eligible to participate in the counselling and admission procedure.

  • This year, the exam is scheduled for May 26 in offline mode.
  • Registration window is open, apply online before January 22, 2019.
  • Results will be released in July and the counselling is expected to begin in July/ August 2019. Know more

How to check WBJEE Merit List 2019?

Steps to check/ view the merit list for WBJEE is given below: 

  1. Visit the official website of WBJEE i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in
  2. Click on the link ‘WBJEE 2019 Merit List’
  3. Enter your roll number and date of birth
  4. Click on ‘Submit’ tab.
  5. WBJEE 2019 Merit List will be displayed

Details on WBJEE Rank Card

  • Marks obtained in Paper 1 (Mathematics).
  • Marks obtained in Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry).
  • Total marks secured in the examination.
  • Overall rank achieved by the candidate.

WBJEE Merit List: General Merit Rank (GMR)

  • This list is prepared based on total score obtained in Paper 1 and Paper II of WBJEE 2019 taken together.
  • The rank is applicable for admission to all Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture courses and to the Pharmacy course in Jadavpur University.
  • Ranking will be done in the descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects.
  • Separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for respective category:
    • SC Rank | ST Rank | OBC-A Rank | OBC-B Rank | PwD Rank | TFW Rank
  • Counselling/ seat allotment/ admission will be done based on GMR only (not on category ranks).
  • Candidates having their names in the JEE Main merit list 2019 will have 10% approved seats in all Self Financed Engineering & Technology Colleges of West Bengal.
  • If in case, two or more candidates get same ranks, inter-se-merit list ruled will be applied as the tie-breaking rule.

  • Less negative marks in Math, Physics and Chemistry taken together.
  • More positive marks in Math and Physics taken together
  • More positive marks in Math and Chemistry taken together
  • Less negative marks in Math and Physics taken together
  • Less negative marks in Math and Chemistry taken together
  • More positive marks in Math for only the 2 marks questions
  • More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions
  • More positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
  • Less negative marks in Math for only the 2 marks questions
  • Less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions

WBJEE Merit List: General Merit Rank (PMR)

  • This list is prepared based on the score in Paper II only i.e. Physics and Chemistry. Check WBJEE Syllabus
  • The rank is applicable for admission to all the Pharmacy courses except in Jadavpur University.
  • Ranking will be done in the descending order of marks scored in Paper II.
  • Separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for respective category:

Final Tie-breaking rule for GMR and PMR

After application of the tie-breaking rules as applicable if there be still ties, the same will be broken by the date of birth (DOB) of the candidates, with the older candidate having preference over the younger one.


    WBJEE 2019 Reservation Details

    • The reservation of the seat for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD will depend upon the category of participating institutions.
    • But, the admission to such category, one needs a domicile of West Bengal only i.e. the candidate must be the resident of the state only.
    • Candidates claiming to such category must present relevant certificate during counselling, admission etc.

    Ans. If any of the candidates lose their WBJEE scorecard, they can collect the duplicate scorecard from the Board.

    Q14. How can candidates check their seat allotment? Will there be any individual letters sent to the candidates regarding allotment?

    Ans. Using login credentials, candidates can check their seat allotment on the website. No, an individual letter will not be sent to the candidates regarding seat allotment.

    Q15. If the tie still persists after applying inter-se-merit rule then how will the candidates be given rank?

    Ans. If the tie persists after applying inter-se-merit rule then, the candidate’s date of birth will be considered. The older candidate will be given higher rank in the WBJEE merit list.

    Q16. What is the use of category rank? Is it used for admissions/ seat allotment/ counselling procedure?

    Ans. No, category ranks are only for information to candidates. 

    Q.17 How are WBJEE category ranks generated by the Board?

    Ans. Category ranks are generated based on the birth category information given by the candidate during WBJEE Registration. If during verification, any candidate’s claim is found invalid, his/ her category rank will be cancelled and the candidate will be considered in general category with his/ her GMR.
