WBJEE 2018 Result can be checked on the official website on or after June 05. Candidates can download their respective rank cards using Application No. and Password generated at the time of registration. WBJEE is conducted successfully in offline mode on April 22, 2018.WBJEE Cut off

  • Score cards will contain sectional and overall score along with GMR and PMR printed on the score card.
  • All candidates are issued score cards, but ranks are issued only to candidates who clear the cut off score/rank. 
  • WBJEE Board will prepare separate merit lists for all courses based on GMR (General Merit Rank)/PMR (Pharmacy Merit Rank). 
  • GMR is based on the combined score of both Paper I and II while PMR is calculated using Paper II scores.
  • PMR is issued for candidates who appeared in Paper II only.
  • WBJEE Answer Official Answer Key will be published by the Board shortly.

How to Check WBJEE Result?

The result for WBJEE 2018 is expected to be declared in the first week of June at www.wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates can simply visit official site, click on the result link, and follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the official website of WBJEE
  • Search for the link “WBJEE 2018 Result” and click on it
  • Enter Application Number, Password and Security Pin as mentioned on WBJEE Admit Card

  • Click on “Submit” button.
  • WBJEE Result will be displayed on the screen
  • Check the scorecard and take its printout

Candidates obtaining marks more than the set WBJEE Cut off will be called for the counselling in order of ranks indicated in merit list. 

Details on Rank Card

Candidates need to carefully check all the particulars on rank cards before downloading them. Apart from the personal details mentioned on admit card, following details will be also included:

  • Roll Number
  • Application Number
  • Password
  • Total Marks
  • Composite Marks in Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry)
  • GMR (General Merit Rank)/PMR (Pharmacy Merit Rank)     
  • Qualifying Status
  • Photo

Candidates can download rank card till the completion of e-counselling and admission process. All the applicants need to take printout of admit card and preserve it carefully till the completion of the counselling process.

In case candidates need a soft copy of the Rank Card after completion of e-couselling, the same can be obtained from the board by sending a written request along with a demand draft of INR 500 issued in favor of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” and payable at Kolkata. The request for issue of duplicate rank card can be made to the board till August 31, 2018. Duplicate rank card will be sent to candidates’ registered email address.


WBJEE 2018 Answer Key and OMR Sheet

WBJEE Board is responsible for releasing official answer key for all the different sets of question paper. The answer key is expected to be published in the first week of May. Answer key is usually published in the form of PDF file.

Steps to View the Filled-in OMR Sheet Response:

  • Visit the official website and login with application number, password and security pin.
  • The submitted response/ OMR Sheet Images will be displayed on the screen.
  • Verify your responses against the answer key available on the official site.

Important Guidelines for WBJEE Answer Key and OMR Sheet

  • Besides, the board will also issue images of candidates’ OMR response OMR sheets.
  • Answer key can be used to calculate both number of correct answers and expected total marks in both the papers.
  • Candidates can also file challenge against any key if they are satisfied with the answer
  • For challenging, candidates need to submit the request online and pay an additional fee of INR 500 per key.
  • The fee has to be paid via net banking/debit card/credit card/Allahabad Bank Challan.
  • Fee paid for challenge against keys is non-refundable.
  • The board is going to review all the challenges and publish revise answer keys.
  • No challenge will be accepted via letter, fax or call.
  • Decision of board will be considered final in this regard.
  • In case candidates want to retain duplicate copies of answer key and images of their OMR sheets after the deadline, candidates can send request to Board.
  • The request has to be accompanied by a demand draft of INR 500 issued in favor of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata.

WBJEE 2018 Counselling and Seat Allotment

WBJEE Counselling and Seat Allotment is conducted in online mode. The seat allotment process will comprise 3 rounds wherein candidates will register themselves for counseling and provide choices for college and course preference. On successful seat allotment, candidates need to report at the designated Reporting Centers set-up by WBJEE Board for document verification, payment of seat acceptance fee and completing remaining formalities.

Candidates need to report at centers with all the documents required for verification during WBJEE 2018 Counseling. Here is a brief about various steps involved in the counselliing procedure.

Step I

  • Candidates need to register for participating in the counselling process along with payment of INR 500 as counseling fee. To register, candidates need to provide details such as Roll Number, Application Form Number, Candidate Name and Date of Birth.

Step II

  • Using their ID and password, candidates need to login and provide their preference among the participating colleges and offered courses. The option to edit and submit the revised choices will be available till the stipulated deadline. No modification will be allowed post submission of choices after deadline.

Step III

  • WBJEE Board will allocate the seats to candidates on the basis of choices filled by the candidates and availability of seats. The entire allocation will be done online. Candidates will have to login to see the allocated colleges or wait for the subsequent allocation round.
  • Candidates can either apply for seat upgradation and participate in succeeding counselling round or accept the seat and pay seat confirmation fee.

Step IV

  • All successful candidates need to physically report at the Reporting Centers (RC) after seat allocation. The list of Reporting centers will be published later by the board and will be allotted to the candidates accordingly. All the documents should be carried in original for verification. The initial admission fee which is INR 5000 for Government Institutions and INR 20,000 for Private Institutions.
  • Candidates applying under Tuition Fee Waiver scheme (TFW) needs to pay seat acceptance fee of INR 4000.

Step V

  • The final step in the admission process is completing remaining admission formalities by visiting the allotted institute. In case a candidate fails to visit the allotted institute and complete all the formalities, the provisional admission for the same will be liable to get cancelled.

NOTE:

  1. Those who fail to report at an allotted center will not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment
  2. Candidates’ category, PwD status, TFW status, domicile status, etc. as indicated in the application form cannot be altered during counselling procedure.
  3. TFW candidates have option to fill choices with TFW or without TFW in order of their seat preference.
  4. There is no limit on number of choices filled from the available options in the order of their preference.
  5. In case candidates fail to lock the choices in order of their preference, the last saved preferences will be automatically saved.
  6. Candidates can withdraw the fee for their allotted seat by visiting the same reporting center in person wherein they obtained the provisional admission
  7. For seat withdrawal and fee refund, rules of WBJEEN will be applicable as per of MHRD, Government of India.

WBJEE Result and Counseling FAQs

Ques: How can I download my WBJEE Rank Card?

Ans: The process of downloading rank card is same as of checking result. A simple 4 step process to download the WBJEE rank card is as follows:

  1. Open the official website: wbjeeb.nic.in.
  2. Look for the link that reads “WBJEE 2018 result”.
  3. Click on the link and provide the details of the Application Number and Date of Birth.
  4. Click on submit button and your WBJEE 2018 score is displayed on screen.

Ques: I have forgotten my password, how can I check my WBJEE Result?

Ans: Forgotten password can be retrieved by clicking on ‘Forgot Password’ at WBJEE Login. You will have to enter your registered email address or phone number to access the password. 

Ques: When can I register for WBJEE Counselling?

Ans: After the result, WBJEEB will release the dates for WBJEE e-counselling. There will be 3 rounds of seat allotment for candidates who meet the WBJEE Cut Off for various institutes and courses. Read about WBJEE 2018 Marks vs Rank. 

Ques: Where can candidates seek admission with WBJEE Scores?

Ans: WBJEE qualified candidates can seek admission to Undergraduate programs in Engineering & Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy programs in Universities, Government-aided Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in West Bengal. Roughly 104 institutes participate in the WBJEE e-counseling to allocate seats in around 42 engineering disciplines. Each participating institute will release their own discipline-wise opening and closing cut-off scores for admission.

Ques: What all details will the WBJEE Rank Card carry?

Ans: The Board publishes the WBJEE Results online on its official website. The scores of individual students are recorded on Rank Cards, each carrying the rank secured, composite score and sectional scores in both the papers of the entrance exam.

Ques: Will the answer keys and OMR sheets be available for download till admissions are over?

Ans: Candidates can download copies of their respective WBJEE OMR response sheets and answer keys. Please bear in mind that these documents will not be available online post-publication of WBJEE result. In case any candidate fails to download the documents in time and requires them after the WBJEE results are published, an application fee of INR 500 per document will have to be paid as a demand draft in favor of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’ payable at Kolkata. The documents will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate.

Ques: How can I get a Calculation Sheet?

Ans: You can estimate your WBJEE score from your OMR response sheets and answer keys released by the Board. You can request for a calculation sheet from the Board, by paying a fee of INR 500 per paper by demand draft in favor of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’ payable at Kolkata. The calculation sheets will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate.

Ques: What is the scoring methodology adopted in WBJEE?

Ans: The scoring methodology adopted in WBJEE for the different category of questions is tabulated below:

Ans: The Board releases two separate Merit Lists, based on the papers appeared in WBJEE and the marks scored in them:

  • Category ranks are prepared for the purpose of sequencing the deserving candidates only, within the respective category.
  • Candidates appearing in both papers will feature in both GMR and PMR if the respective score is above the cut-off mark.

  • Candidates appearing only in Paper 1 are not ranked.

Ques: What are the tie-breaking rules for GMR in WBJEE?

Ans: The tie-breaking rules for GMR are as follows in order of application:

  1. Less negative marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry taken together
  2. More positive marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
  3. More positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry took together
  4. Less negative marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together
  5. Less negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together
  6. More positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions
  7. More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions

Ques: Can I request a duplicate rank card?

Ans: You will not be able to download and print WBJEE rank cards from the official website after a specified date. However, if you require a duplicate rank card after the completion of e-counseling and admission process, the same can be applied for, till July 31, 2018, by paying a fee of INR 500 in the form of a demand draft in favor of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable in Kolkata.

Ques: I have secured a WBJEE rank. Am I eligible for e-counseling?

Ans: Everyone who secures a WBJEE rank may not be eligible for e-counseling. In order to qualify for e-counseling, candidates will have to score above the cut-off marks determined by the Board apart from securing a rank in WBJEE. The cut-off score will be announced at the time of WBJEE Result declaration.

Ques: I have appeared for my 12th Board exam this year. I have also applied for WBJEE. In case I clear WBJEE but do not pass my Board Exam, do I still qualify for counseling?

Ans: A candidate appearing in the Qualifying Examination in 2018 is eligible to appear for WBJEE 2018. However, the candidate will not be considered eligible for admission unless the minimum eligibility criteria for admission, i.e., successfully completing the Qualifying Examination is fulfilled.

Ques: I have secured a merit ranking in WBJEE. Does that guarantee me admission to the institute and program of my choice?

Ans: Securing a WBJEE Rank does not entitle a candidate to guaranteed admission into an institute or program of choice. The candidate has to satisfy the norms and standards as specified by the participating institutes.

Ques: What is the expected WBJEE Cut-off for 2018?

Ans: The WBJEE 2018 Cut-Off will be available along with the Results. For now, a trend can be estimated by checking the cut-off scores of 2017 of top participating institutes of WBJEE:

Ques: What is the WBJEE seat matrix?

Ans: Course-wise and institute-wise availability of seats as provided by the participating institutes is termed as seat matrix and is published before e-counseling and seat allotment. Based on seat matrix, the final seat allotment is done through WBJEE e-counseling.

Ques: Will the Board inform us about the counseling session?

Ans: The Board will issue a separate notification with the details regarding e-counseling, seat allotment and subsequent admission in the official website (www.wbjeeb.in / www.wbjeeb.nic)  soon after the publication of WBJEE Result. No individual mails will be forwarded to candidates.

Sir I belong to SC category but in form there was no option of it .. there was only for general category option.

Hi Raju, The online form for WBJEE has the category options only for the candidates who are domiciles of West Bengal. Rest (for domiciles in other states/UTs), the category available is only General. If you're a domicile of West Bengal then re-check the details filled in the application form or try filling it later as this can be due to the low net connection.
