MAT IBT Mode Guidelines: Network and System Requirements

    All India Management Association has introduced Remote Proctored Internet Based Test keeping in view ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates can take the test from the confines of their homes, this will be helpful as social distancing is a neccesity now. MAT IBT 2020 Mock Test facility is also provided by AIMA to facilitate candidates in understanding IBT Mode requirements and procedure. First session of MAT Internet Based Test was conducted from May 25 to July 10,  2020MAT IBT Mode  Results have been released on July 15, 2020. Candidates can download their scorecard using login credentials. 

    MAT 2020 PBT and CBT mode exam for May session was cancelled and registration discontinues due to increasing number of COVID-19 cases in India. Schedule for September session is yet to be released. This makes IBT mode all the more important.

    To take online exams a secure system browser is required. Mettl Secure Browser (MSB)is a web browser that will let you take online exams safely. The candidates will have to install the Safe Exam Browser.exe file in their systems which would install all the necessary packages. To take MAT IBT, AIMA has advised candidates to install the MSB - Mettl Secure Browser.

    The requirements for MSB are -

    • MSB operating system requirement is Windows 7 and above.

    Note:MSB is not available on any browser other than Windows 7 and above.

    • MSB needs the dot NET framework.
    • The minimum supported version is 4.5.1 NET framework.
    • Memory requirement: It needs 65 MB of permanent free space on the default hard drive.

    Note: Once the exam starts, MSB (secure browser) will close all applications open in the background - Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, for example, or any other unnecessary application like Skype.

    Will there be a dress code for the MAT IBT? 

    Although it is an online examination, candidates must be dressed professionally and maintain a disciplined decorum at all times.

    To prepare for remote proctored MAT IBT, candidates must do the following things -

    • Read the candidate manual attentively.
    • Watch the demo video to understand the examination process better.
    • Download and install MSB for a secure test-taking process.
    • Take mock MAT IBTs because it is the best way to experience the whole examination. process before the actual date of the examination.
    • Make arrangements to have a good power supply and fast internet connection for an uninterrupted examination experience.

    What is the DOT NET Framework for MAT? 

    • Dot NET is a developer platform that consists of programming languages, tools, and libraries for building many types of applications. 
    • There are several implementations of dot NET. Dot NET Framework is the original implementation of dot NET. It provides running support to websites, desktop apps, services, and more on Windows.
    • To take MAT IBT, you will need the Dot NET Framework. This will let you install and use Mettl Secure Browser (MSB) so that you can take your test securely. The minimum version supported version of dot NET Framework for MAT IBT is 4.5.1 NET.

    To take up MAT IBT, you will require a minimum internet bandwidth of 512 kbps and Chrome browser version of 63 and above/Mozilla browser version of 52 and above. You will need an operating system of Windows 7 or above to be able to install the Mettle Secure Browser (MSB) that will help you secure the test-taking process.
