Organ-specific and tissue-specific manifestations occur when the disease-causing microbes enter the body, and find a place to reside and manifest their influence in the form of a disease.
- When the microbes infect an entire organ such as the lung, kidney, or intestine it is called an organ-specific manifestation of the microbes.
- For instance, Mycobacterium tuberculosis enters the body through the nose and migrates to reside in our lungs where it manifests Tuberculosis.
