Copper Hydroxide can be produced in the following ways: 

(I) Copper Hydroxide is produced from Copper (II) Sulfate by reacting its dilute solution and sodium hydroxide. The output of this method has a lot of impurities like water and sodium hydroxide.

(II) Copper Hydroxide can also be produced by the electrolysis of water with the anode as copper

  • Copper(II) Hydroxide reacts with a solution of ammonia to form a deep blue solution of tetraamine copper complex ion ([Cu(NH3)4]+2), but the hydroxide is reformed when the solution is diluted with water.
  • Copper(II) Hydroxide is mildly amphoteric in nature so it dissolves in slightly concentrated alkali forming [Cu(OH)4]2-.
