JEE Advanced Counselling 2018: The counselling and seat allotment procedure will be made available by JoSAA through Seat Allotment Procedure. All the candidates who are eligible for admission will have to participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their choices of the courses. Around 97 institutes participate in Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counselling.
The list of courses that will be offered by the IITs for admission for the academic year 2018-19 will be made available at the time of online filling-in of choices. JEE Advanced Counselling will be conducted completely in online mode after JEE Advanced Result is declared. No intimation about the allotted college will be sent by e-mail/SMS or post.
Given below is a synopsis of information related to JEE Advanced Counselling 2018:
Register and fill your choices atwww.josaa.nic.in. After that, lock and validate your choices. After seat allocation, it is required to report at the reporting center for document verification. There are a 23 IITs which offer 10988 seats in total. 5394 seats are allotted to general category candidates which are the highest followed by OBC-NCL candidates who are allotted 2870 seats.
Candidates applying for JoSAA Counselling for admission to IITs have to report at the allotted center for document verification. There are 17 reporting centers for IITs whereas 40 reporting centers are available for NITs, IIITs and Other GFTIs. Check JEE Advaced Reporting Centers for IITs

CHECK COMPLETE JOSAA COUNSELLING SCHEDULE
The result for JEE Advanced is going to be declared on June 11, 2018 on the official website of JEE Advanced. Candidates can check their result by entering their JEE Advanced 2018 roll number, date of birth and security key. JEE Advanced Result will contain the All India Rank (AIR) and Category Rank of successful candidates.
Candidates need to secure minimum prescribed marks in each subject and in aggregate to appear in the JEE Advanced 2018 Merit list. The category wise minimum cut of marks list is mentioned below in the table for reference of all the candidates.

Candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced only will be allowed to participate in JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling for admission to various UG courses offered by IITs. However, these candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criteria to take part in the counselling and seat allotment process.

Counselling and seat allotment process for JEE Advanced will begin from June 19, 2018. The first round of seat allocation will be held on June 29, 2018 (tentative). The counselling process can be broadly divided into following steps:
The seat allotment process would be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) which was formed in 2015 by the collaboration of Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and Joint Admission Board (JAB) for conducting seat allocation procedure for the academic programs offered by IITs/ NITs/ ISM/ IIITs and other GFTIs for the academic year 2018-19.
Candidates should go through all the steps of JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling process, discussed below in detail.
Candidates are first required to register online for JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling after fourth week of June, 2018. Candidates need to enter personal details such as JEE Advanced Application number and roll number, DOB and create new User ID and password.
Candidates will have to fill up their choices by logging in using their Registration No (User ID), Roll No and Password to fill their choices as per branch, course and institute preference. They are permitted to change, edit, delete or add new choices until finalizing their choices. Candidates must lock their final choices before the due dates failing which leads to choices are locked automatically.
Applicants can select a maximum of 50 choices during online locking of choices. They are advised to take a print out of their finally submitted choices.

The JEE Advanced 2018 seat allotment would be conducted on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced and the choices filled by them during choice filling and locking. Seat allotment for qualified students has been divided into three categories namely,
The candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to check the status of seat allotment during JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling. The opening and closing ranks for all the categories would vary. Hence, the candidates securing higher in their respective categories will be allotted seats accordingly.
Note: The seat allocation in JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling would be completed within three rounds. All the candidates are therefore advised to check the status after the completion of ever round, as there is a possibility that the seats allotted to them are upgraded because other students have either withdrawn from the course or have accepted seats they prefer.
Candidates are required to report to the Zonal IIT after the seats are allotted to them. All the candidates should be present in person for verification of documents and payment of admission fee. The registration fee for General and reserved categories is mentioned below.

Some of the important points for reporting to allotted centers for taking provisional admission are mentioned below. Candidates who don’t report to the Zonal IIT before the stipulated deadline will not be considered for seat allotment and their seats will be automatically forfeited. In case, the applicants are offered an up gradation, they will have to forfeit the seat allotted to them earlier in order to accept the upgraded seat.
The institutes will issue a final allotment letter and grant provisional admission to candidates after verifying the documents and the fee is paid by the candidate. Candidates who fail to meet any eligibility criteria or are caught providing false information/documents will be debarred from the counselling process and their admission would be immediately deemed cancelled.
Students are required to submit original documents along with one attested photocopy during verification for taking provisional admission.
