Course Curriculum Overview

Course is affiliated from Allahabad state university . previously it was from csjm kanpur. Best curriculum if you compare with any other universities of India. Very good combination of technical and management subjects. Have very good library for reading And WiFi campus.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunity is very less at my time. But in last 2 year some companies are visited here and select few students. For placement they mainly depends upon other engineering college running by same group. Here very less chance for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum wise this is a good university. The Curriculum is quite dynamic and kept up to date. They also add up some extra courses to give a industrial touch to student by courses so that student can be presentable enough in future. I have took Finance and Marketing and it was good enough. For non-commerce students accounts(only) can become a problem as professor for that is quite avg and do not understand how to interact and communicate properly with somebody who never knew what is credit and debit. Other finance subject will be easy as professors know how to keep things simple.

Placement Experience

Well, if you are really concerned about placement from University itself, then i would say this is not your cup of tea. TPO Required a lot lot lot more improvement here. Just for the sake of showing in their record "Placed" they would even place you as a receptionist (no matter you are an MBA of BE no relation with education ) . So be very sure you don't grab placement just take a degree and leave for your better future at least i would say.

Campus Life

The campus is awesome. Our college is placed near the hills. So it is surrounded by hills from one side. In rainy season the view from college is amazing. Also our college conducts inter dept sports competition such as cricket chess table tennis etc. A national level event known as TESLA is conducted every year by the college which include programming contest, robotics, Presentation competition etc etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college provides us with scholarship. These scholarship are provided by the government for backward class students in which whole fee is waived for the backward class student. For the open category student there is EBC scholarship for students whose annual income is less than 1 lac. Here the student gets half fee returned in their bank account. I don't know regarding the loan facility.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am studying b.tech geo-informatics branch. Its curriculum is excellent as it touches all the concepts that are required to pursue research in the higher fields. For example, we have oceanography subject in 3rd year 1st semester which will be the fundamental and base for any student who want to do research in oceanography and even the elective subjects are particularly concerned about the core subjects there is also a free elective in 3rd year 1st semester and 4th year 2nd semester which we have to go to other department and pursue a subject there.

Faculty

Andhra university's faculty are one of the top most professors in our state but in our geo engineering department at present there are only 3 professors that is a bit problem for us. out of those 3 professors one is head of the department so maximum of our classes are taken by research scholars associate and assistant professors but the standards of faculty members especially professors is very much high.

College Events

Each year our college used to organized a technical event named 'Panache' the event was not successful for first two years after then our college management kept on improving the event. They spent decent amount in all the cultural events. One can get good organizational skills as well ad platform to improve management skill because all the activities are organized by students only.We had separate committees for Placements, Mess food, for fresher, for tech events and for counselling process as well.

Exam Structure

The exam structure and lab was very good. For each semester there were 3 quizzes,1 Mid Term and, 2 End Term and all the marks of the were considered in final score. The labs are good and all the equipment were of good brand and were well maintained. Even the lab exams were taken seriously, We had permission to access the lab for research projects as well and we were allowed to use the lab for doing innovative projects.

Campus Life

All the facilities provided by the institution are too good, that if one can use those opportunities then definitely they will succeed in their academics. Facilities what i found are very useful when compared to any other college in the state except NIT are each and every corner of the campus is WiFi enabled. E learning has become a revolution these days. So if one can use it in proper way, it helps allot. University, E-library and college libraries. They have a very good collection of books and e magazines in e library, competitive exams assistance in library. Centralized computer center. It is a 24/7 computer center which i found as very useful. Laboratories and Professors are definitely a plus point. Campus Placements are at their best. For a student who aspire for great future, Jntuh ceh is a very good platform to build strong career.

Remarks

Most of the faculties are senior and experienced in teaching. Although there are a few junior professors, who are obviously less experienced, but they too manage well. The Mechanical and the Computer departments have the better faculties over other departments. The management is good but has to be improved so that the process is done in a quicker manner. Now they just run like snails following all the rules laid down decades ago.

It was direct second year admission, yeah I was diploma pass out. I completed my diploma in EnTC with Aggregate 81.31% in 2012. After Diploma, we still have a time gap of around 3 months. During this 3 months, I had to cast an eye over list of engineering college in Pune. So, My benchmark was Branch i.e EnTC, In and around College Area and Placement statistics. VIIT was one of those which i filtered it out with around 7-8 others colleges. Now the point came, whether my aggregate % are well enough to get into college. So, I started statistical analysis with previous cut off of each college, Now my list filtered it out with only 4 colleges. After this, I went to all those 4 college, had words with students and everyone suggested to go for VIIT. Reason behind opting this college was the placement. Yes, VIT(2nd Top College of Pune) and VIIT shares same placement. Your talent won't be restricted.

Placement Experience

Here jobs and other placement of companies are well maintained, we have TPO who talks and provide us with good companies , from the last 5 years many of our students were placed to famous and well known companies. Here TCS and Hp are partners for the main placements and also there are many companies here who give jobs opportunities and camp using every year.

Internships Opportunities

FEE structure is such normal as of all of the other engineering colleges under WBUT each semester we have to give 35,000 for nearly 6 months or 1 semester no extra charges are taken for books or any other types of requirement .I am to tally satisfied with the fee structure and more over it is comfortable and under a budget to spend for my parents.

I want you guys to help me out if possible. I'm fed up with this boring college. I want to log complain but i don't know where exactly to log the complain. This college don't have any faculties for any branch. We don't even have a properly qualified principal. He is just BE. I'am so fed up of my college, they unnecessarily keep on fining student for any stupid reasons. Our teachers are so dumb that they just don't know the proper syllabus of any particular subject all they do is play politics all around the college. I want you guys to help the students of this college by telling everything to our University hope it will help us in any possible way.

Campus Life

Whoever says that college is not good or it's dabba are all fake. Now college has some good teaching staff and comps, civil & mechanical branches are just flourishing they have all the labs with machines and equipment for the academics. Teachers are well experienced in their field, mainly in civil and comps department students are enjoying a lot about their studies. And result of this college is gradually getting better each semester.

Exam Structure

There is four kinds of scores are given under any subject in which: Major exam with 50/60 scaled out of 100 marks exam, Minor/ Midterm exam with 30/20 scaled out of 100 marks exam pattern, Sudden/ surprise test for evaluating the student's grasping and understandings about the course. It is scaled 10 out of 70/50, Practical examination of particular course with a real analysis of any experiment of that course. This given 10 marks scaled out of 50 again, Some courses not having practical labs then tutorials are used to evaluate the students by giving questions to solve. Marks provided here 10 out of 50.

I gave the entrance for B.COM Hons. Last year at Lucknow University. This course is a specialized course of B.com where it provides large scope in various department of commerce. My interest is to work in Banking Industry so for this reason i have opted for this course. This course will help me in acquiring knowledge and skills regarding banking department. As it deals with subjects like Finance Accounting,Public Finance which helps in dealing matters regarding banking. Admission process was very simple at Lucknow University .University had conducted written examination which was the combination of subjects like General Awareness, Maths ,English Language and Logical Reasoning. Each Section had a passing marks on basis of which candidates were supposed to attempt in order to get qualified. There was no interview process.Candidates were selected on the basis of marks obtained in entrance test and their 10th and 12th mark sheets.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, our senior students are very helpful. I remember the day when i was called by our faculty members to work with our seniors in promoting our college. My job is to motivate the freshers to join our college. Seniors provide us strategy as how to influence new students towards our college. It was a great support by our seniors. This made our promotional activities more effective. Our strategy was to divide the group in section and supposed to move to different area and we were also not supposed to reveal our identities to our competitors (other colleges). This strategy worked very well. Hence ,Our Seniors were great helper to us and they taught me to work in group and to make good strategy and it should be followed.

Course Curriculum Overview

BITS Pilani has a very flexible course structure. Students have to complete a set of Disciplinary Courses (CDCs - Compulsory) and Electives. A single degree student has to complete a total of 13 electives- 3 Humanities, 5 Core and 5 Open (can be core or inter-disciplinary). This can vary with course as few courses have higher credit (or units) subjects in their CDCs. At the end a student at BITS has to complete the required number of credits (141 minimum) to graduate. A single degree student has an option of doing either an Internship (Practice School - PS) or Thesis in their final year (either semester). The courses cater to the interests of the student. They can do research based projects or learning oriented ones as per their interests. The atmosphere is very conducive for research with departments getting funding from major organisations. BITS Goa is equipped with state of the art labs with talented teachers to guide students wanting to do research. Taking about Chemical Engineering in particular, our department has some great labs which is the house various equipment which can be used for doing guided research. There are several electives offered at BITS and students have a choice to choose whatever they wish to do. The electives offered (at all 3 campuses) are as follows: Bio conversion Technology, Introduction to Environmental Biotechnolog, Downstream processing, Introduction to MEMS, Introduction to Nanoscience, Microfluidics and its application, Introduction to Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology for Renewable, Energy and Environment, Environmental Pollution Control, Process Equipment Design, Process Plant Safety, Transport Phenomena, Molecular and StatisticalThermodynamics, Process Plant Design Project I, Process Plant Design Project II, Modelling and Simulation in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Technology, Bio-chemical Engineering, Petroleum Refining Technology, Corrosion Engineering, Advanced Process Control, Fluidization Engineering, Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals, Environmental Management Systems, Polymer Technology, Mathematical, Methods in Chemical Engineering, Introduction to Multiphase flow, Nuclear Engineering, Energy Conservation and Management, Introduction to Nanoscience Technology, Pulp & Paper Technology, Alternate Energy Resources, Petroleum Product Characterization, Advanced Separation Technology, Advanced Transport Phenomena, Electrochemical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Chemical Process Optimization, Advanced Mass Transfer, Advanced Heat Transfer, Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Refinery Engineering, Petroleum Downstream Processing, Process Intensification, Energy Integration Analysis, Advanced Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Reaction Engineering, Polymer Chemistry. Not all electives are offered every semester. It varies with teacher availability and student registrations.

Exam Structure

BITS Goa has three major exams per semester per subject. There is a Test - 1 (T1) in the second Month, Test - 2 (T2) in the 3rd Month and Comprehensive examination (Compere) before the breaks for Summer and Winter. Apart from these you have marks for quiz, assignments, projects, sometimes attendance, labs, presentations etc. It is up to the faculty to assign how much weight-age is given to each assessment component. Handouts are given out in the beginning with the break up mentioned. The timetable and exam dates are floated at the beginning of the semester and the student can decide what he wants and how he wants to phase out his exams. Test - 1 and Test - 2 span across a span of 1 week and the number of exams per day depends on the number of courses taken by the student. Each exam is 1 hour long. There are 5 time slots for T1 and T2: 8.30 - 9.30 , 10.30 - 11.30 , 12 - 1, 2 - 3 and 4 - 5. Students generally have 6 - 7 exams and may get leaves in between. Sometimes if the student decide to over load himself, he may even end up with 3 exams on a day with back to back exams. But mostly core subjects are spaced out well and it all depends on how many subjects the student take. T1 and T2 generally have equal weight-age up to 20% (can be more). They only have a part of the syllabus. Comprehensive exam or compere as we called them are the most important ones in which we are evaluated on the whole course syllabus. The exams are 3 hours each and span across 15 days. Students rarely have 2 exams on a day, but again it depends on their choice. There are study breaks in between exams. The weight-age for this is around 40%. The other components have up to 20% weight-age. In case a student is unable to attend an exam they can request for a make-up and this is granted only for genuine cases.

Placement Experience

As I mentioned earlier, due to its fame of being the oldest colleges around, it does have placement opportunities. The Alums from this college itself bring their companies to the placements. Still, compared to colleges in Bangalore, the number of companies are less. As far as I remember, there were only 8-9 companies which visited our college during my tenure. The packages ranged from 2.5 LPA to 6 LPA.

College Events

There were mainly 2 clubs in college. Lit Club and Tech club. As the name goes, Lit club was taking care of all the cultural activities, may it be yearly fests or any other events. Tech club had paper presentation and similar things. No way it was conducted wasn't great. Neither they had strong support from the faculty not had complete freedom to run on their own. Kinda restrictive environment i feel.

Placement Experience

Although placement at accurate is average and also around 60%- 65% of students only get placed. Rest of them has to find job on there own. The college has dedicated Training & Placement Cell. But still college does not bring big MNC for the campus and also student had to go to nearby colleges for Off campus as our college has not much reputation in Corporate World all thanks to the seniors. But still college manages to bring few big company like Dell, IBM, MindTree etc. Also TPO has tie up with third party consultants type company which bring company on there own. A majority of student get placed over the consulting company. The average package varies from 2.0 L -3.25 L and the highest is 5 L from MotherSons Pvt Ltd.

Campus Life

Apart from hectic study schedule the campus life is awesome. Students are engage in each other in free time. You can find students from various part of North India specially from Bihar and UP. The college has good sports facilities. College has a football ground and basketball ground. Also there are few clubs in college like Robotics club and tech club. These clubs use to organize event in there branches. Although the boy is to girl ratio is 4:1. The technical club is good as they organize good technical events. Also there is Business club run by management students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Academic curriculum is organised and divided nicely. For B.tech students courses are divided in core and elective. You will have to complete min 160 credits for degree. It involves courses from humanities ( min. 18 credits, around 6 courses), free credits (min. 12 credits, you can take any course like chemistry, biotech, physics etc) and core courses. Here is the more detailed explanation: The distribution of credits for each of the major components: Institute Core Courses (88 Credits) Sciences - 25, Common Engineering - 42, Design & Innovation Practicum - 6, Humanities +Management- 13, Internship - 2, Electives Courses (30 Credits), Design & Innovation Practicum (includes final year project) – 12, Humanities Electives - 5, Free Electives - 13, Discipline Core and Discipline Elective Courses (42 Credits) Discipline core - 30, Discipline Electives – 12

Campus Life

Gender ratio is worse. The max. gender ratio in B tech is 10% and the min is 5%. In M.S.C and M.S, PhD the gender ratio is quite good. IIT Mandi has setup all the labs to it's new campus and has all the required things there. This year they have made all the sports grounds. Capacity of the ground (no. of students who can play parallel) is not good enough right now. IIT Mandi seniors regularly organize technical competitions. Students from other colleges also participate in the events.

Faculty

Most of the faculties are expert in their respective subjects. I would definitely recommend you all to attend their lectures sincerely as they have a lot to teach you. Starting from the First year where all the subjects are common for all branches. Practicals are taken very seriously for first year. But when we go to the respective branches, I feel practicals are the focus key of faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview

SIRT is following the course curriculum as per the instructions of RGPV University. All the courses provide complete end to end knowledge of particular subjects. The level of subjects are as per the upcoming semesters. Like, if we take the example of Computer science, we get to learn C language in first year then C++ and .Net/ Java and so on.
