Ques. How’s financial aid for international students at Northeastern University?

    ● Top Answer By Jyotshna Ranjan on 03 Feb 21

Ans. You should try to learn about the financial aid for undergraduate as well as graduate students as both of these have different types of grants, scholarships and requirements. Since international students are unable to qualify for US federal loans, they have to pay up more but they can ease off their burden by doing part time work by making some money.  Students placed in the top 10%-15% of Northeastern University’s pool are given preference for competitive merit awards which is between $10000 and $25000. As an international, you wont have many funding opportunities. You can get financial relief through mostly these: As a University Scholar Need-based scholarships based on expected family contribution External Scholarships Merit and Talent based scholarships If you enter as a university scholar, then you can get your entire tuition waived and you only have to incur costs on room, board and other personal expenses. For this, you should have an outstanding academic record in order to be selected. Ofcourse, this will be another challenge to be their top candidate in order to enter the college as a university scholar. If your expected family contribution(EPF) is less than the actual tuition fees, then you may be awarded a scholarship or a grant which will help him cover up the remaining tuition. However, the EPF amount is low and there is no guarantee that the rest of your fees will be covered. You can get $5k- $15k in grant award for tuition. As an International student, you may find it difficult to avail scholarships unless you have an excellent SAT/ACT score with an impressive extracurricular profile. You should work hard on making a good profile to stand a chance to win these scholarships. Students with good extracurricular activities get recommendations and get their fees waived off or whatever scholarships they have won. You should contact the college regarding this in order to have better insights and options.Read more

Ques. Which is a better university for an MIS SUNY Buffalo or Northeastern University?

    ● Top Answer By Yashmeet Grover on 03 Feb 21

Ans. If you ask me to pick between both, you can consider SUNY Buffalo as it is a really good option for students who want to do MIS in a shorter duration. This course will take 1 year only and even ranking or reputation wise it’s pretty good. SUNY Buffalo ranks at 88th place in National Universities rankings and also has relatively cheaper fees. On average, NEU grads earn 73,000-121,000 USD depending on the field and experience. SUNY grads also have a decent salary ranging from 69,000-128,000 USD as per emolument.  Still, both have a very different curriculum. SUNY Buffalo and Northeastern University follow different paths when it comes to MIS, the difference is huge in courses of both the universities. Northeastern University’s MIS program is loaded more with technical knowledge and it relies heavily on programming. SUNY Buffalo with its MIS program relies more importance on management-oriented approach and this is tailor made for people who have a good amount of work experience. Getting into SUNY Buffalo should not be too hard as it has an acceptance rate of 61%. Student-faculty ratio at SUNY Buffalo is 14:1 and the school has 30% of its classes with students less than 20 students. SUNY Buffalo offers 54% of its full time undergraduate students need based financial aid and the average scholarship or grant award is $7,811. Northeastern University offers its MIS program for a duration of 2 years. The fees charged by Northeastern University is $48000 for the first year. Northeastern University ranks 49t place in National Universities rankings. It has a student-faculty ratio of 14:1 and 68.3 of its classes have students less than 20. You can weigh their pros and cons and then make up your mind about deciding which college you want to go to.If you want to get more knowledge about the technical aspects and are okay with higher fees to be paid then go for Northeastern. If you are working professional with a decent work experience and want to have more knowledge about the management approach then go for SUNY. It will give you what you need by having to pay less fees as compared to Northeastern.Read more

Ques. Which university is better, university of Colorado, Boulder or Northeastern University?

    ● Top Answer By Vaishnavi Agrawal on 03 Feb 21

Ans. Everyone has different criteria and experiences and if you ask me, Northeastern was not that great an experience because it was a private school and for me money was an important factor. If you consider their rankings, it is obviously better ranked than University of Colorado which ranks at 103rd place while NEU ranks at 49th place in the national universities. Northeastern University Northeastern University offers rigorous academic learning and continuous opportunities for the students. It received 62,000 applications to fill out mere 2800 seats during 2018 and 2019 which means you’ll find a lot of competition here. It also has a great reputation as an innovative experiential university and it also has a co-op program. You’ll gain a lot of theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience here. It has abundant resources you can utilize. University of Colorado  You can definitely consider this because of easier admissions- it has an acceptance rate of 78% and an early acceptance rate of 94.7%. You’ll also have 43.8% of its classes with less than 20 students. It also offers need based financial aid to 33% of its undergraduate students and the scholarship or grant award ranges from 3000-15,000 USD. Here’s a quick comparison of both universities: However, that may not really help you in making this decision alone. To choose a college, you will really have to dig up information related to your classes of interest, what experience you are looking for, or which college has a better scope for you to land a high paying job in return of your money. You should decide after evaluating different options and choose the college that is going to help you deliver the result you want to achieve.Read more

I applied to several universities and also got approval from many of them. I opted for this one because it was the only one which was under my family budget that time. My online application fee was $68 and there was no other charge at the initial stage of the admission process.

    Course Curriculum :

Coming to my course content, it encompasses accounting, business strategy, marketing communication etc. I had great learning here as I could adjust my studies to meet the demands of my schedule.

I heard about this university from one of my senior friend who had completed his schooling from my school. Luckily I got selected in this university by following his steps. My online application fees was nearly $70 and that was similar approx to the other universities where I was trying to get approval from.

    Course Curriculum :

In my course curriculum, I got the the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the key areas in psychology like social and abnormal psychology, sensory function learning, memory human development emotion, and motivation etc.

I did my bachelors in IT from Mumbai and one of my friends suggested to go for my Masters from this university in the USA and therefore after searching a lot about this college I decided to take admission here I was required to pay an application fee and apply through the online portal of the college.

    Course Curriculum :

Through my course, I was taught about the Data Analytics program. I was taught various coding languages to be used in the research process.

I applied to a number of colleges and received acceptance letters from just a handful, but I chose this one because of its high placement rates and career counselling agreements. The online application form was filled by me for which I paid $100 application fee. My previous marks in bachelors were also considered.

    Course Curriculum :

Artificial intelligence, computer vision, cryptography, graphics, knowledge processing, multimedia, networking, among other key computer science topics were included in my course. All the class sessions or technical lab sessions were were practical based, I truly enjoyed it.

I decided to get my master's degree from a reputable university. My relatives were there, and they had mentioned it to me. This, I believe, is the best college with an outstanding program. I used the college's official website to fill out an online application for admission. I paid about $100. for the application.

    Course Curriculum :

The course content appealed to me. It's well-balanced and distinct in its own right. Delivered by a well-known faculty. It provides me with thorough preparation for a career in international trade. I learned about multinational business's functional disciplines. It included foreign research and internships, all of which provided me with useful experience.
