Species diversity
The complexity of species in a community is referred to as diversity. The species richness and evenness of the species can be used to determine it (i.e. the relative abundance of species). The amount of various species coexisting in a given area is referred to as species richness. In comparison to locations near the poles, areas around the equator have the greatest species richness because the natural circumstances (low seasonality and high rainfall) are more conducive to a wider range of species.
The relative abundance of species is another essential metric. It is the ratio of the number of individuals in a species to the total number of individuals in a given habitat. The relative abundance of foundation species is frequently the highest.
There is often a dominating population in a community that has more power than the others. Ecological dominants are the dominant species in a given ecosystem. Because its extinction would result in the community's collapse, this species is considered a key. Spatial structure

Communities may be affected by a disturbance (e.g., a volcanic eruption, a fire, an earthquake, etc.). After a shock, a once-stable society may be unable to return to its equilibrium condition. The original community may be replaced with a new one if this occurs. This is known as ecological succession.
