Migration is defined as the movement of huge numbers of organisms from one location to another. Migration occurs for a variety of causes. The term migration is most commonly used to describe the population movements of any species away from or back to their origins on a regular and periodic basis. There are numerous forms of migration. Some may last a lifetime and may include only a single individual's movement. An example of this type of migration is the pacific salmon. On other hand, an individual or animal may migrate frequently, like many migratory birds and mammals.
