CLAT 2027 Application Timeline: Registration to Result

CLAT 2027 application timeline begins with registration in August 3, 2026 and concludes with final seat allotment around January 2026. 

Consortium of National Law Universities has released the official notification PDF on July 22, 2026 for admission to integrated LLB and LLM programmes across 25 participating NLUs.

• The CLAT 2027 registration will open on August 3, 2026 and will conclude on October 31, 2026.
• As per update, CLAT 2027 exam will commence on December 6, 2026 from 2:00- 4:00 PM.
• The CLAT result 2027 will be published on the website around December 2026, expected after  9-10 days of the exam, according to the pattern of 2026.

​According to a Reddit post, a user commented that CLAT 2027 report is out. As per the notification there are no changes for CLAT 2027. The CLAT exam pattern changes are proposed for CLAT 2028 onwards.

CLAT 2027 Registration Process

Students must register at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT Registration 2027 process has four steps: account creation, form filling, document upload and fee payment. Complete all steps before October 31, 2026.

• Step1 Create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number on the official Consortium portal.
• Step 2 Fill in personal and academic details which include name, date of birth, category, Class 12 marks and subject details.
• Step 3 Upload scanned documents such as passport-size photograph, signature and Class 10 certificate or equivalent proof of date of birth.
• Step 4 Pay the application fee through net banking, debit card or credit card on the portal.
• Step 5 Submit the form and save the confirmation page and application number for future reference.

CLAT Eligibility 2027

Students appearing in or having passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) are eligible for the UG programme. There is no age limit for CLAT 2027. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in March/April 2027 must submit the proof of document of meeting the required aggregate marks at the time of admission process because failure to do will cancel your admission.

CLAT 2027 Admit Card and Exam Date

The CLAT 2027 admit card is expected to release in late November on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Students must download the hall ticket using their registered login credentials and carry it to the exam centre.

Documents to carry on exam day:

• Printed admit card (A4 size)
• One original government-issued photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN, Passport or Voter ID
• Passport-size photograph identical to the one uploaded in the form

The CLAT 2027 exam is on December 6, 2026. The paper duration is of two hours (2:00 PM- 4:00 PM IST) and consists of 120 objective questions. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer and each correct answer carries one mark making the total marks 120.

CLAT 2027 Result and Counselling Schedule

The CLAT 2027 result is expected in December 2026, after 9- 10 days of exam. The Consortium publishes the merit list and individual scorecards on the official portal. Students can download their scorecard using their login ID and use it for counselling.

After the result, centralised counselling is held in multiple rounds. Students must fill college preferences based on their preference list across participating NLUs.

Students who receive a seat allotment must report to the allotted NLU with original document such as Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, category certificate (if applicable) and two sets of photocopies. Failure to report within the stipulated deadline results in admission cancellation.
