Ans. CLAT is a law entrance exam consisting of both UG and PG courses. The selection in CLAT will allow a student to study in National Law Universities (NLUs). As Law is a dynamic subject, hence it cannot be studied in isolation without any association with other subjects like political science, economics, etc. Getting into an NLU will provide students the best environment and platform to study this dynamic field. Ques. How do I prepare math for CLAT?

● Top Answer By Aniket Atul Mahulikar on 20 Jan 21

Ans. The math section of CLAT is known as quantitative techniques which consist of charts, diagrams, comprehension questions to gauge students’ inference and interpretation skills. The questions are based on elementary mathematics. Thus, a student does not need to be an expert in mathematics. It requires regular practice to get a good score in this section. The following are some preparation tips for the math section.  Previous Year’s Paper:  Go through the previous year’s question paper. Try to figure out the pattern of the examination.  Clear Basics:  Follow a good mathematic book to clear your basics. R.S Aggarwal is quite popular among students for clearing basics. Practice as much as possible. Memorize some tips and tricks: CLAT is all about speed and accuracy. Thus, to attend the entire question in the math section within the stipulated time, it is important for students to memorize some quick formulas which will help in the faster calculation. But do not skip to short cut without knowing the longer method. Many questions asked in CLAT only require a couple of lines for calculation. Do not be scared of Mathematics. Try your best. Even if you can’t score well even after good preparation, you can secure a decent score by working hard in other subjects.Read more

Ques. Is CLAT a difficult exam?

● Top Answer By Aniket Atul Mahulikar on 20 Jan 21

Ans. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level law entrance examination. It is conducted every year by the consortium of NLUs. CLAT question paper is based on MCQ format and consists of 150 questions. The exam tests the critical thinking ability of law aspirants. CLAT is not a difficult exam to crack. Anyone who is well prepared can get into an NLU. However, it can be a bit tough to get into the top five NLUs. The difficulty level of an exam depends on two things, which are as follows. Pattern and level of preparation: The CLAT question paper consists of 150 questions spread over five sections. The five sections are – English language, Current affairs including general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques.  ALL the questions are comprehension based. So, a candidate has to read the entire passage to solve a set of questions. What makes the exam scary is the time frame. Candidates have to complete the entire paper within two hours.  However, practicing a lot of mocks will help overcome this difficulty. Candidates having the habit of reading newspapers will have an edge in this exam.  So, solving various questions, mocks, reading newspapers, and staying updated about the happenings around the world are the keys to achieve success in CLAT. Level of Competition: Every year around 65,000 candidates apply for this exam and the number keeps increasing with each passing year. However, the ratio of selection in CLAT is higher as compared to JEE. In nutshell, CLAT requires planned and smart preparation, and the rest will find its way.Read more

Ques. How should I prepare for CLAT in two months?

● Top Answer By Meghdeepa Mondal on 20 Jan 21

Ans. For a CLAT aspirant, it is essential to be clear about one’s own goal. For some students the goal is NLS. While others aim for NLU, even the lower-ranked ones. According to the need, preparation is required in all five critical areas. The table below gives the subjects and marks division in them. Subjects No. of Questions Allotted Marks Legal Aptitude 50 50 Logical Reasoning 40 40 English Including Comprehension 40 40 General Knowledge and Current Affairs 50 50 Elementary Mathematics with Numerical Ability 20 20 Preparation Tips: English medium students have little advantage in preparation, having a better grasp of comprehensive skills. General Knowledge and Current Affairs, which is 25% of the examination and is not a conceptual or analytical subject, needs to be mugged up with regular information gathering. Legal Reasoning contains questions generally from a certain number of topics only. These topics need to be sorted according to the previous year's question papers and practiced, which is possible in two months. For the Elementary Mathematics with Numerical Ability and Logical Reasoning part, it is obvious that the aspirant needs practice, and two months is too short for the same. For maths, concepts must be cleared before problem-solving. Taking help from YouTube, Unacademy, Khan Academy, and other resources from the internet can help a lot in preparation. R.S. Aggarwal and M.K. Pandey are two excellent books for Logical Reasoning practice sets. For English including Comprehension, the candidate needs to understand the type and pattern of questions present in the previous papers and learn the way to tackle them. Having finished all the initial preparation, revision needs to be done in all five divisions. Candidates weak in Mathematics, English including Comprehension or Logical Reasoning must practice a lot in the limited time available.Read more
