CLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria will be announced after the release of official notification by National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi. Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for CLAT 2020 as every participating NLU has a separate eligibility criteria. If a candidate fails to meet any of the specified points during admission proces, chances of cancellation of his/her candidature rises.

Common Law Admission Test or CLAT, is a single unified entrance test for candidates aspiring to pursue 3 year LLB, 5 year Integrated LLB and LLM. The law entrance examination is conducted annually for UG and PG programs. NLU’s conduct the national level exam on a rotational basis. The exam will be conducted on May 10, 2020. Intermediate graduates with 45% marks can apply online from First week of January 2020.

CLAT Age Limit - As per the revised standards, there will be no upper age limit for UG Program in CLAT 2020.
CLAT Eligibility: Academic Qualification – A candidate must have secured minimum marks required in 12th standard, as per the category to which s/he belongs:
CLAT Eligibility - General Criteria – Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2020 are eligible to register for Common Law Admission Test. They must submit an evidence of their successfully clearing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they will lose their right to be considered for admission.
CLAT offers admissions to both national and NRI candidates in the One Year LLM Course offered at various NLUs and other institutes/ universities accepting CLAT Scores.
CLAT Age Limit – There is no upper age limit set for appearing in the examination.
CLAT Eligibility: Academic Qualification – Aspirants appearing for CLAT LLM Program should have secured a minimum percentage in qualifying examination (i.e. LL.B./ 5-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.)/ any other equivalent exam). The marks vary as per candidate’s category.

NRI/ NRI Sponsored category candidates are offered seats under NRI Quota. Admissions is carried out by the concerned universities independently on the basis of CLAT merit.

Ques: What are the number of attempts that I can give for CLAT?
Ans. According to CLAT 2020 eligibilty criteria, a candidate can appear as many times for the paper as they want.
Ques: I belong to Scheduled Caste category. What is the minimum score I am required to get in to sit for CLAT 2020?
Ans. For a candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category, s/he is required to secure minimum of 40% marks in 12th standard in order to be eligible to appear for CLAT 2020 examination.
Ques: I am a student with Commerce background. Can I appear for the exam?
Ans. Yes. Students from all academic backgrounds (Science/Commerce/Humanities) are eligible to apply for the examination.
Ques: I am a student belonging to reserved category. What documents am I required to produce at the time of admission?
Ans. For students belonging to reserved categories, they are required to submit their caste certificate along with their academic qualification certificates at the time of admission.
