Q1. Which is the most important section for CLAT UG?
Ans. CLAT UG consists of 5 different sections, out of which the General Knowledge section and Legal Aptitude section account for 50% of the total weightage. Therefore it is the most important section along with legal aptitude.
Q2. Should we read opinion pieces on newspapers?
Ans. Opinions can affect your judgements, so it is advisable to read the news article and then form your own opinion before reading other opinions. However, It is advisable for the english section, so keep it towards the end if at all.
Q3. How many questions will be asked in the GK Section of CLAT?
Ans. There will be up to 7 passages of 450 words each based on which you will have to answer 50 questions. The passages will be asked from any recent event or past event.
Q4. Do you require knowledge of law to attempt CLAT GK?
Ans. No, the candidate does not require any additional knowledge of law apart from what is in the passage. However, having some legal knowledge is highly recommended.
Q5. How much time does it take to solve the GK Section?
Ans. The section can be time consuming if the questions are difficult to understand. However, if straightforward questions are asked you can finish the whole section within 10 to 15 minutes.
