CLAT Exam Centers 2019: The official list of exam cities with centers will be released shortly by NLU Odisha. As the participating for the law entrance examination increases each year, the centers are expected to double up as well. This year, the National Law University Odisha, Cuttack is expected to hold the exam on May 12 (tentative). 

The registration window will become functional in January 2019. Interested candidates have to visit the official website i.e. to apply online for the exam. Candidates who register successfully will be issued their CLAT Admit Card in April 2019. Read on to know more about exam city, center and exam day instructions.

Listed below are quick facts related to CLAT Exam Centers:

  • In addition to NLUs, the law entrance will be conducted in other centers/ cities as well depending upon the number of candidates. The decision in this respect would be taken up by the CLAT convenor and executive committee. Know more
  • It is mandatory to carry a valid Photo ID Proof along with the hall ticket at CLAT Exam Center.
  • At most three centers can be selected while filling online form for CLAT 2019.
  • Mention the exam centers in the decreasing order of preference.
  • The venue is assigned as per the availability.
  • Once the venue is allocated, there will be no option to change the center at later stages.

As per previous year analysis, it expected that CLAT Exam Centers in Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Indore will increase. This is because of the participation level from these cities is high.

Note: CLAT Authority reserves the right to allot final CLAT Exam Center. 

Documents Required at CLAT Exam Center

Candidate must carry any one of the photo ID proof mentioned below for verifying identity, along with CLAT Admit Card. The list is as follows:

  • PAN Card
  • Passport 
  • Driving License 
  • Voter’s ID Card
  • Bank Passbook with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ University
  • Aadhar card with a photograph/ Employee ID/  Bar Council Identity Card

Candidates using a Scribe in CLAT

Candidates applying under Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category will be allowed 40 minutes extra to complete the exam. The category of disability would include blindness, low vision, locomotor disability, mental retardation, hearing impairment, etc. They are required to provide a certificate of disability, issued by a competent authority.

The facility of scribe is also applicable for PwD candidates. Applicants who require scribe during exam should indicate the same during online registration. They must also upload the photocopies of the relevant documents (attested by Gazetted officer). The list of documents are mentioned below:

  • Certificate of Disability from appropriate authority
  • A statement indicating whether scribe will be brought by candidate or required to be provided by the CLAT authorities.
  • Declaration from the scribe, in case arranged by the candidate, stating that he/she would comply with all the rules & regulations and would not indulge in any unfair activity like helping out the candidate in answering questions. They will only perform their duty of reading out the questions and marking/clicking the correct answers.

Instructions for CLAT Exam Centers

Candidates are advised to adhere to the instructions mentioned below at their respective exam centers:


  • Carry all the requisite documents carefully along with the hall ticket.
  • Candidates are advised to report at least one hour prior to the commencement of exam.
  • Candidate should maintain the conduct during the examination.
  • Rough work is required to be done only on the space available on the exam booklet.
  • Handle the OMR sheet carefully to prevent any damage.


  • Candidates should make sure that they are not carrying any unrequired things like paper chits or electronic devices to the test center.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter examination after 30 minutes from the commencement of the exam.
  • They should not carry any electronic gadgets like calculators, mobile phones, digital watches, etc.

Hi Amit, Earlier, the age criteria for the exam was:

  1. Unreserved/ NRIs/ NRI Sponsored category candidates below 20 years of age as on July 01, 2019.
  2. SC/ ST/ OBC/ Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category candidates below 22 years of age as on July 01, 2019.
