Nervous system, is a structure responsible for controlling the behavior and transmitting signals of continual events across every part of a living body. However, the structure of the nervous system different animals have can vary from one another. The nervous system in animals predominantly incites rapid activities, like locomotion or spontaneous movements. Simply, the nervous system of animals can be dissected into three different parts, the Central Nervous System, Peripheral Nervous System, and Autonomous Nervous System.

Animals nervous system can be bifurcated into several parts, namely,

  • Central Nervous System: 

This section in an animal’s body typically consists of the brain and the spinal cord. It is situated in the head of an organism and usually draws along the back. The central nervous system confines the brain, forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain, alongside the spinal cord too. The brain in an organism is generally the largest and the most integral of all functioning areas of the body.

  • Peripheral Nervous System: 

This section in an organism mainly contains every individual nerve that is seen to continue from the central nervous system to every part across the body. The nerve fibres of the Peripheral Nervous System usually bind two primary parts, namely, Afferent nerve fibers and Efferent nerve fibres.

  • Autonomous Nervous System:

The parasynthetic nerve mainly tethers to distinct, relaxed motions, like the movement and contraction of the pupil. The sympathetic nerve, on the other hand, critically inflames during situations concerning triggers. It involves a motion called, “flight or fight reaction.”

  • Cerebral Cortex: It is responsible to control voluntary movements, the way we reason and perceive different things of interest. It also coordinates the language we speak in.
  • Cerebellum: This part of the animal brain is highly responsible in keeping a steady equilibrium in the body. It controls the movement and posture of the body as well.
  • Hypothalamus: It typically controls and regulates the temperature of the animal body. Primarily, hypothalamus is also responsible for coordinating sentiments, circadian rhythms and hunger in an organism.

  • Limbic System: This section of the brain is typically responsible for coordinating our behavioral and emotional acknowledgment.
