  • The d block elements are those that have partially filled d orbitals.

f Block Elements Properties

  • The f block elements are those that have partially filled f orbitals.
  • They are also called inner transition elements.
  • Inner transition elements generally are the members of group 3 but they can be seen separately as the f block elements.
  • f Block elements has two series – Lanthanides and Actinides.
  • They exhibit variable oxidation states.
  • Atomic radii decreases along the f block series due to lanthanide contraction.
  • They exhibit radioactivity.
