Journey To The End Of The Earth Summary

The writer of Journey To The End Of The Earth, Tishani Doshi, has tried to voice her opinion about the need of exploring Antarctica more appropriately, as according to her it is the place that holds the keys to understanding the creation of the Earth and the lives on the earth.

  • The author was a part of the ‘Students on Ice’ Expedition, that led them to Antarctica. They had to cross nine time zones by a ship to reach there.
  • The isolated form of beauty captures the author’s mind immediately. She was intrigued to know once India and Antarctica used to form the same landmass.
  • The ice layers of Antarctica preserve the history of the evolution of humankind as well as the secrets of a lot of geological phenomena.
  • In the next part of the lesson, the author expressed her concerns about how humankind is destroying the Earth unknowingly.
  • By this point, we understood that the tour had been organized to make the young students realize the need to save the planet.
  • At the end of the lesson, we got to know how the ship got stuck in the ice and the students needed to walk on the ice for a long time and saw seals.
