Reforestation is the process of planting new trees in deforested areas to rebuild recently destroyed forests. Reforestation plans generally target towards: 

  • Saving ecosystems from destruction and safeguarding the planet
  • Stop the destruction of widespread forests, which are necessary to absorb carbon dioxide, produce oxygen, and mitigate climate change. 
  • Necessitates massive planting of new trees. The reason being, fewer trees are leading to an increased greenhouse effect. This problem has also progressively caused desertification, or the loss of fertile, productive soil.
