What are the advantages of a potentiometer?

Potentiometer works on the method of zero deflection so that the possibility of error is extremely small. It is a highly sensitive device, therefore it can measure small EMFs.

  • A standard cell can be used to standardize a potentiometer
  • As per the requirement, the length of the potentiometer can be increased in order to get an accurate value.
  • The potentiometer does not draw any current from the circuit in which it is used.
