XAT 2027 has no age limit and no cap on the number of attempts — any student who holds or is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university is eligible to appear on January 3, 2027.

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). The eligibility criteria are among the most inclusive of any MBA entrance exam in India. There is no minimum percentage prescribed by XLRI for sitting the exam, no age restriction, and no limit on how many times you can attempt it. Over 150 B-schools accept XAT scores, each of which may set additional program-specific requirements at the admission stage.

Educational Qualification for XAT 2027

To sit for XAT 2027, you must meet the following academic requirements:

• You must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline — arts, science, commerce, engineering, law, medicine, or any other field.
• The degree must be awarded by a university or institution recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or an equivalent statutory body.
• Students appearing in their final year examination in 2026–27 can apply provisionally. Admission, however, is conditional on submitting proof of degree completion before the cutoff date set by the admitting institute.
• There is no minimum aggregate percentage required to appear in XAT 2027. Individual XAMI member institutes set their own minimum at the admission stage — XLRI, for instance, typically requires 55% aggregate for general and NC-OBC students and 50% for SC and ST students.
• Degrees pursued through distance or correspondence mode from UGC-recognized institutions are accepted.

Students who hold only a 2-year diploma after Class 12 are not eligible unless they subsequently earn a recognized full bachelor’s degree. A 3-year integrated diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized university is accepted.

There is no upper or lower age limit for XAT 2027. XLRI does not prescribe any age restriction for appearing in XAT or for applying to XLRI programs. This makes XAT distinct from several state-level or public-sector management entrance tests that cap eligibility at 30–35 years.

Working professionals, career changers, and fresh graduates of any age are fully eligible to appear in XAT 2027 and apply to member institutes, provided they satisfy the educational qualification requirement. Number of Attempts in XAT 2027

XAT places no restriction on the total number of times you can appear. You may attempt XAT every year without any lifetime cap. Key points to note:

• If you appeared in XAT 2025 or XAT 2026 and wish to improve your score, you can register fresh for XAT 2027.
• Each year’s XAT score is valid only for that particular admission cycle. Previous year scores cannot be used for XAT 2027 admissions.
• You must complete a fresh registration and pay the applicable registration fee each time you apply, even if you have attempted XAT before.
• There is no cooling-off period between attempts — consecutive-year attempts are fully permitted.
