XLRI Jamshedpur conducts XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) every year as the common gateway to its flagship BM, HRM and other management programmes as well as over 150 associate B-schools across India. The 2027 cycle is now underway, with registration starting July 15, 2026 and the exam locked in for the first Sunday of January 2027. Remaining dates — registration close, admit card, result — are expected based on the XAT 2026 cycle and will be officially confirmed on xatonline.in as each milestone approaches.

XAT 2027 Registration Window

XAT 2027 registration is officially open from July 15, 2026 at xatonline.in. Applying on the first day is advantageous — Day-1 applicants receive their first preferred test city confirmed by August 5, 2026. Based on XAT 2026 when registration closed in early December 2025, the window for 2027 is expected to stay open until November or December 2026.

What you need to complete XAT 2027 registration:

• Valid email ID and mobile number to create an account at xatonline.in.
• Scanned photograph and signature in the format specified on the portal.
• Academic details — Class 10, Class 12 and graduation marksheets.
• Work experience details if applicable.
• Net banking, debit/credit card or UPI for fee payment.

You can modify your choice of XLRI programmes and associate institutes on xatonline.in during the registration window. Save your payment confirmation and login credentials — you will need them to download the admit card and check the result.

XAT 2027 Admit Card

XAT 2027 admit card is expected in December 2026 on xatonline.in, based on XAT 2026 when the admit card was available from December 20, 2025. No admit card is dispatched by post — you must download and print it before exam day.

Steps to download XAT 2027 admit card:

1. Visit xatonline.in and log in with your registered email and password.
2. Click "Download Admit Card" from your applicant dashboard.
3. Verify your name, roll number, exam centre, address and reporting time.
4. Download and take a colour printout for exam day.

• Carry the printed admit card and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport or driving licence) — both are required for entry to the exam centre.
• Reach the centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time on your admit card.
• Electronic devices including mobile phones are not permitted inside the exam hall.
• Report any error on the admit card to XLRI through xatonline.in immediately after download.

XAT 2027 Exam Date and Pattern

XAT 2027 is confirmed for January 3, 2027 (Sunday) by XLRI Jamshedpur. It is a computer-based test conducted in a single session across designated centres in India. Based on the XAT 2026 pattern, the exam has two parts covering five sections.

• Total MCQ questions: approximately 95 (based on XAT 2026 pattern; exact count subject to change for 2027).
• Exam duration: approximately 3 hours.
• Each correct answer: 1 mark.
• Wrong answer penalty: 0.25 marks deducted.
• Unattempted questions beyond eight in Part 1: 0.10 marks deducted each.
• GK and essay do not contribute to the XAT percentile used by B-schools for shortlisting.

XAT 2027 Result

XAT 2027 result is expected in the third week of January 2027 on xatonline.in, based on XAT 2026 when the result was declared on January 16, 2026. The result is published as an overall percentile and section-wise score. XLRI also announces shortlists for its programmes around the same time.

How to check XAT 2027 result:

1. Go to xatonline.in and log in with your XAT credentials.
2. Click "XAT 2027 Result" or "Scorecard" from your dashboard.
3. Your overall percentile and section-wise marks will be displayed.
4. Download the scorecard PDF and save it for sharing with B-school application portals.

• The scorecard download window is expected to remain open through March 2027, based on XAT 2026 (January 31 – March 31, 2026).
• XAT 2027 scores are valid for admissions to the 2027–28 academic year only.
• Over 150 B-schools use XAT scores for shortlisting — track each institute’s individual cut-off and application deadline after result day.

XLRI 2027 Selection Process

Students shortlisted for XLRI programmes are called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) rounds, expected in February and March 2027. XLRI evaluates XAT score, academic performance, work experience and GD/PI performance to build the final merit list.

Associate institutes that accept XAT scores set their own shortlisting and interview schedules independently of XLRI. After XAT 2027 results are declared, check each institute’s official website for their specific process and deadlines.
