NEET PG College Predictor 2026 helps you find MD, MS and other PG medical college options based on your NEET PG rank, category and preferred course. Instead of checking hundreds of college cutoffs one by one, enter your details in the predictor to get a shortlist of colleges that you can explore for counselling.

NEET PG 2026 was conducted on August 30, 2026. The result is expected to be declared by September 30, 2026. Once the result is out, candidates should use their official NEET PG All India Rank (AIR) in the college predictor for a better shortlist.

The predictor uses previous counselling and cutoff trends to show possible college-course options. It does not guarantee admission. The final allotment depends on your rank, category, course, counselling quota, seat availability and choices filled during counselling.

Important: A college cutoff should always be checked for the same course, category, quota and counselling round. For example, the cutoff of MD General Medicine cannot be used to judge your chances for MD Pathology in the same college.

How to Use NEET PG College Predictor 2026?

You can use the NEET PG College Predictor after getting your rank. The process is simple:

  1. Enter your NEET PG All India Rank.
  2. Select your reservation category.
  3. Select the MD or MS course you are interested in.
  4. Click on the button to check your college options.
  5. Compare the predicted colleges by previous cutoff, fees, location and counselling quota.

Enter your AIR and not your category rank or state merit rank unless the tool specifically asks for it. These ranks are different and cannot be compared directly.

If you are confused between two or more branches, run the predictor separately for each branch. A candidate can have very different college options for MD General Medicine, MD Paediatrics, MD Anaesthesiology and MS General Surgery at the same rank.

NEET PG 2026 Latest Update

NEET PG 2026 Event Details

Mode of Exam Computer-Based Test

Admission Session 2026-27

A re-examination was also conducted on September 5, 2026 for affected candidates at the Jaipur examination centres where the August 30 exam was disrupted.

Do not use an expected NEET PG 2026 cutoff score as the final cutoff. The official qualifying score will be known after NBEMS declares the result.

NEET PG 2026 Qualifying Cutoff

NEET PG has a minimum qualifying percentile. A candidate must first qualify the examination before becoming eligible for PG medical admission. The qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2026 is given below:

Category NEET PG Qualifying Percentile 2026 Qualifying Score
General / EWS 50th Percentile To be announced
General-PwBD 45th Percentile To be announced
SC / ST / OBC including PwBD candidates of these categories 40th Percentile To be announced

Qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff are not the same. The qualifying cutoff only tells you whether you have qualified NEET PG. The admission cutoff is the closing rank at which a particular college-course seat was allotted during counselling.

For example, qualifying NEET PG does not mean that a candidate automatically becomes eligible for MD General Medicine at a government medical college. Admission depends on the candidate's rank and the closing rank of that particular seat.

NEET PG College Predictor vs NEET PG Rank Predictor

These two tools solve different problems. Candidates often confuse one with the other.

Tool What You Enter What You Get When to Use
NEET PG Rank Predictor Expected marks or score Expected NEET PG rank Before the official rank is available
NEET PG College Predictor Rank, category and course Possible college-course options For counselling and college shortlisting

If you already have your official NEET PG AIR, use the college predictor directly. If you only have an expected score, first check NEET PG Marks vs Rank to understand the possible rank range.

Which College Can I Get with My NEET PG Rank?

There is no single answer such as "AIR 10,000 gets this college." The same NEET PG rank can give very different options depending on the course, category and counselling quota.

For example, a rank may not be enough for MD General Medicine in a college but may still be within the previous cutoff range for MD Pathology, MD Pharmacology or another branch in the same college.

Before treating a college as a possible option, check these details:

Check Why It Matters
Course Every MD/MS branch has a separate cutoff.
Category UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD seats can close at different ranks.
Quota AIQ, state quota, institutional, management and NRI seats are different.
Counselling Round Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and stray vacancy cutoffs can differ.
Rank Type AIR, state merit rank and category rank should not be mixed.
Cutoff Year Previous-year data is useful for trends but cannot guarantee the next year's cutoff.

Example: If a course closed near AIR 15,000 last year for your category and quota, AIR 12,000 is on the better side of that previous cutoff. AIR 18,000 is outside it. This can help you judge your chances, but the next year's cutoff may still move.

Do not judge your chances from only one counselling round. Check two or three years of data where available. A cutoff can move because of a change in seats, fees, counselling rules or the choices made by candidates that year.

How NEET PG College Predictor Uses Previous Cutoffs

The most useful prediction comes from matching your details with the closest previous counselling records.

A good NEET PG prediction should compare:

  • your NEET PG AIR;
  • your category;
  • the selected MD/MS course;
  • the counselling quota;
  • previous round-wise closing ranks; and
  • the colleges offering that particular course.

The previous closing rank should be treated as a reference point and not as a fixed target. A college that closed at AIR 20,000 last year may close before or after AIR 20,000 in the next counselling cycle.

NEET PG Counselling 2026: AIQ vs State Counselling

NEET PG counselling is not handled by one authority for every seat. Candidates may have to register separately for MCC counselling and the counselling conducted by a state authority.

Counselling Seats Covered
MCC NEET PG Counselling 50% All India Quota seats of participating states, 100% seats of deemed universities, central universities/institutes covered by MCC, and other notified PG medical seats.
State NEET PG Counselling Remaining state-controlled PG seats in government medical colleges and private medical college seats covered under the respective state's counselling rules.

Do not use the 85% state quota rule of NEET UG for NEET PG. The standard PG arrangement for participating government colleges is 50% All India Quota and the remaining seats under the applicable state or university rules.

Deemed university PG medical seats are handled through MCC counselling. Therefore, a deemed university should not be treated as a normal state-quota private college while predicting admission chances.

Registration for MCC counselling does not automatically register you for state counselling. If you want to explore state quota or private college seats, check the registration dates and eligibility rules of that state separately.

Check: NEET PG Counselling 2026

Does Domicile Matter in NEET PG Counselling?

Students should not assume that PG medical state quota works exactly like NEET UG domicile rules.

The Supreme Court has held that residence-based reservation cannot be used for postgraduate medical admissions. However, this does not mean that every candidate automatically becomes eligible for every type of state seat.

States and universities may still have other valid conditions, such as institutional preference, MBBS study requirements, service conditions or in-service categories. Always check the current counselling prospectus of the state before making a choice list.

Best NEET PG Colleges for Your Rank

The "best college" for a NEET PG rank depends first on the branch you want. A candidate interested in MD Radiodiagnosis may have a very different list from someone interested in MD Anaesthesiology at the same AIR.

Some well-known medical colleges and universities whose PG medical seats are filled using NEET PG include:

Medical College / University Location What to Check Before Applying
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College - VMMC New Delhi Course-wise cutoff, quota and seat category
Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi AIQ/institutional seat rules and course cutoff
Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU Varanasi Course, category and MCC counselling cutoff
King George's Medical University - KGMU Lucknow AIQ/state counselling route and branch cutoff
Madras Medical College Chennai Quota, category and branch-wise closing rank
Seth GS Medical College Mumbai AIQ/state seat and course-specific cutoff
Grant Medical College Mumbai Course, quota and Maharashtra counselling rules
Christian Medical College - CMC Vellore Vellore Course eligibility, seat category and current admission rules
Kasturba Medical College - KMC Manipal Manipal Branch cutoff, deemed university counselling and total fees

This is not a rank-wise admission list. Check the current and previous closing ranks for your exact course before adding a college to your counselling plan.

AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER Are Not NEET PG MD/MS Colleges

This is an important point while using any NEET PG college predictor.

MD/MS admissions at AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER Chandigarh and NIMHANS are not through NEET PG. Their participating postgraduate courses are covered through INI-CET.

Therefore, these institutes should not appear as normal MD/MS college options based on a NEET PG rank.

Institute Main Entrance Route for MD/MS
AIIMS New Delhi and participating AIIMS INI-CET
JIPMER Puducherry INI-CET
PGIMER Chandigarh INI-CET
NIMHANS Bengaluru INI-CET for applicable PG courses

Do not compare an INI-CET closing rank with a NEET PG AIR. They are different examinations with separate merit lists and counselling processes.

NEET PG Private College Predictor: Do Not Check Only the Cutoff

A private or deemed medical college may be possible at your rank but still not be the right option for you. Fees can vary sharply by college, course and seat category.

Before selecting a private college, check:

Factor What You Should Check
Tuition Fees Annual tuition fee and the fee for the full course
Other Charges Hostel, mess, university, security and other compulsory charges
Seat Type Government, management, deemed, minority or NRI seat
Stipend Monthly stipend, deductions and whether it changes each year
Service Bond Service period and penalty for not completing it
Discontinuation Penalty Amount payable if you leave the course after joining
Refund Rules Refund conditions if the seat is surrendered or upgraded

Do not rely on one general "MD fee" shown for an entire college. MD General Medicine, MD Dermatology, MD Radiodiagnosis and other branches may have different fees, especially in private and deemed universities.

Fees vs Stipend: Check the Real Cost of an NEET PG College

The cheapest college is not always the college with the lowest tuition fee. Stipend and bond conditions can change the real cost of the course.

For example, two colleges may charge similar fees, but one may offer a much higher monthly stipend. Another college may have a compulsory service bond after completing the course.

Before taking admission, calculate:

  • total tuition fee for the full course;
  • hostel and compulsory charges;
  • expected stipend during the course;
  • service bond, if any;
  • penalty for leaving the seat; and
  • living cost of the city.

This gives a more useful picture than comparing tuition fees alone.

How to Use NEET PG Predictor for Choice Filling?

A college predictor should help you make a larger and better choice list. It should not decide the exact order of your choices for you.

Follow these points while making your list:

  • First decide which branches you are actually willing to study.
  • Check college options for each preferred branch separately.
  • Keep colleges you genuinely prefer higher in your choice list.
  • Do not move a less preferred college above a better college only because its previous cutoff looks easier.
  • Add enough backup choices if you would genuinely join them.
  • Remove colleges whose fees or bond conditions are not acceptable to you.
  • Check the latest seat matrix before locking your choices.

Your choice order should show your real preference. If College A is your first choice and College B is only a backup, keep College A above College B even if the predictor shows a lower chance for College A.

This matters because counselling allotment considers your rank, available seats and the order in which you have submitted your choices.

Why NEET PG Cutoffs Change Every Year?

Previous cutoffs are useful, but they do not remain fixed. A branch can close at a very different rank in the next admission cycle.

NEET PG college cutoffs can change because of:

  • increase or decrease in PG seats;
  • changes in fees;
  • new PG seats or colleges;
  • category-wise seat changes;
  • changes in counselling rules;
  • candidate preference for a particular branch;
  • bond or stipend changes; and
  • seats left vacant after earlier rounds.

A last-round or stray-vacancy cutoff can sometimes move sharply. Do not treat one unusual stray-round allotment as the normal cutoff of that college.

Round 1 vs Last Round Cutoff: Which One Should You Use?

Both are useful, but they answer different questions.

Cutoff What It Tells You
Round 1 Closing Rank Shows where the course initially closed when more seats and candidates were available.
Round 2 / Round 3 Closing Rank Shows how the cutoff moved after upgrades, resignations and fresh vacancies.
Stray Vacancy Closing Rank Shows the final vacancy-based allotment but can move unexpectedly and should not be used alone for prediction.

For a realistic prediction, look at the cutoff trend across rounds instead of checking only the final closing rank.

NEET PG College Predictor 2026 FAQs

Ques. Which college can I get with my NEET PG rank?

Ans. It depends on your AIR, category, preferred MD/MS course, counselling quota and the previous cutoff of that seat. Enter these details in the NEET PG College Predictor to shortlist possible colleges.

Ques. Is NEET PG College Predictor 2026 accurate?

Ans. The predictor can give a useful shortlist when it matches your rank with the correct course, category, quota and previous counselling cutoffs. It cannot guarantee admission because cutoffs change every year.

Ques. Is NEET PG College Predictor the same as NEET PG Rank Predictor?

Ans. No. A rank predictor estimates your rank from marks. A college predictor takes your rank and shows possible college-course options.

Ques. Should I enter AIR or category rank in NEET PG College Predictor?

Ans. Enter your NEET PG All India Rank unless the predictor specifically asks for another rank type. Do not enter your category rank or state merit rank in an AIR field.

Ques. Can I use NEET PG College Predictor before the 2026 result?

Ans. You can use an expected rank for early planning. Once the NEET PG 2026 result is declared, use your official AIR for a better shortlist.

Ques. When will NEET PG 2026 result be declared?

Ans. NBEMS has announced that the NEET PG 2026 result will be declared by September 30, 2026. It does not mean that the result must be released exactly on September 30.

Ques. What is the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2026?

Ans. The qualifying percentile is 50th percentile for General/EWS, 45th percentile for General-PwBD and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates, including PwBD candidates of these categories. The corresponding 2026 cutoff scores will be known after the result.

Ques. Can I get a government medical college with a low NEET PG rank?

Ans. It depends on the branch, category, quota and counselling round. Less competitive branches may remain available at ranks where highly preferred clinical branches have already closed. Check course-wise cutoffs instead of a single college cutoff.

Ques. Can I get AIIMS through NEET PG?

Ans. No. MD/MS admissions at AIIMS are through INI-CET, not NEET PG. The same applies to participating PG courses at JIPMER, PGIMER Chandigarh and NIMHANS.

Ques. Can I get DNB admission through NEET PG?

Ans. Yes. NEET PG is also used for admission to post-MBBS DNB and other eligible NBEMS programmes. Check DNB seats separately because an MD/MS college cutoff should not be used as a DNB hospital cutoff.

Ques. Is NEET PG state quota 85%?

Ans. No. The 85% state quota commonly discussed for NEET UG should not be applied to NEET PG. MCC conducts counselling for 50% AIQ PG seats of participating states. The remaining PG seats follow the applicable state or university counselling rules.

Ques. Can I use the previous year's NEET PG cutoff for 2026 counselling?

Ans. Yes, but only as a reference. Match the same college, course, category, quota and round. Also check the 2026 seat matrix because a change in seats can affect the closing rank.

Ques. Is a college guaranteed if my rank is better than last year's closing rank?

Ans. No. A better rank gives you a useful reference point, but it does not guarantee the same allotment. Cutoffs depend on seats and candidate choices in that counselling year.

Ques. Which cutoff should I check for NEET PG college prediction?

Ans. Check the course-wise closing AIR for your category and quota. Look at Round 1, later rounds and previous years where data is available. Do not use only a stray-vacancy cutoff.

Ques. Do private medical colleges have the same NEET PG cutoff for every course?

Ans. No. Every course can have a different cutoff. Cutoffs can also change by management, minority, NRI or other seat categories where applicable.

Ques. Should I select a college only because the predictor shows a high admission chance?

Ans. No. Also check the branch, fees, stipend, service bond, patient exposure, location and seat-leaving penalty. A college that fits your rank may still not fit your budget or career preference.
