    Master of Technology in Cloud Computing is a two-year postgraduate course, divided into four semesters of six months each. The course basically deals with the delivery of computing services like, servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and more—over the Internet, using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet.

    M. Tech in Cloud Computing: Eligibility

    Candidates interested in pursuing a career in the field of Cloud Computing are required to fulfill the following mentioned criteria, in order to be eligible to apply for the course.

    A minimum aggregate score of 60% or equivalent CGPA at the level of graduation in B. Tech/B.E. /M. Sc. / MCA completed from a well-recognized university or AMIE or any other qualification recognized as equivalent there to. All SC/ST candidates are given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate criteria.

    B. Tech/B.E. degree should be completed in anyone of the following streams:

    • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE),
    • Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
    • Information and Systems Engineering (ISE),
    • Telecommunication Engineering (TE),
    • Information Technology and Communication (ITC)

    Students having a M. Sc. degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Information Science/ Information Technology are eligible to apply. Although it is advisable to students to have a minimum one-year work experience, as many reputed institutes of the country prefer students with professional knowledge and skills.

    M. Tech in Cloud Computing: Admission Procedure

    Generally, admission to the course is provided to eligible candidates on the basis of their score in a relevant entrance examination, conducted at State or National Level or at Institutional level, which is followed by a round of counseling. Most of the institutes consider GATE score for admission.

    A cut-off (minimum marks required to pass) is set for the exam and students clearing it are eligible for the counselling procedure, which further consists of two additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview, wherein their general aptitude and knowledge for the course is examined, by highly qualified and experienced faculty.

    Students whose final year examination’s result is pending, due to some reason are also welcomed to apply, but admission to such candidates will be provided on a provisional basis, until they satisfy all the mentioned eligibility criteria.

    Ans. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has existed since the inception and also one of the best departments of EEC. Easwari Engineering College is a unit of the SRM Group of Institutions and was established in 1996. The college is affiliated to Anna University and accredited by AICTE and NBA. NAAC has graded the institute ‘A’. According to the NIRF Ranking of 2020 EEC ranks at 201 among the engineering colleges of India. Courses: Courses available in Computer Science and Engineering at EEC are BE, ME, and Ph.D./ MS (By Research). The total intake for the department has increased to 180 from 60 over the years.  Facilities:  The department offers state-of-art facilities for various laboratories, a well-equipped seminar hall, wifi-enabled classrooms to support e-learning, and a departmental library.  Admission and Course fee The institute selects students for B.E and M.E through TNEA and TANCET respectively.     Ans. The CSE department is the best at IIIT Bhubaneswar. The institute intakes students into the M.Tech programs through GATE. The eligibility criteria for MTech in CSE is a B.Tech in a relevant field and valid score in GATE exam. The GATE cutoff in the closing round in 2019 for CSE was 603 (General). The course fee for the first-year is INR 1.76 LPA. The faculty of the department are highly qualified and experienced. The faculties are alumni from IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs. The placement scenario is pretty good for MTech in CSE. The top recruiters include Microsoft, Dell, Infosys, IBM, CTS, etc. More than 90% of the M.Tech CSE students get placements every year.     Ans. M.Tech placements for the CSE department at IIT Bombay is quite good as compared to other colleges of the country. According to the highlights of 2019 placements, The average placement package offered to the students at IIT Bombay is around 20 lakh per annum. Reputed companies like Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Axis Bank, Oracle including others participate in the recruitment drives at IIT Bombay. A total of 402  students from M.Tech programs got placed in reputed companies in 2019. Notably, the CSE department had the highest placement rate among the courses.  On an overall scale, placement percentage in CSE MTech at IIT Bombay stays above 95 percent. In the computer science branch, every student has the same opportunity as a B.Tech student. Students also get internship offers at IIT Bombay.     Ans. The pattern for GATE paper remains the same every year. It’s a standard pattern for GATE.  The total mark is 100.  The time duration is three hours.  There are 65 questions MCQ and NAT type questions are asked General Aptitude section carries 15% of the total mark (i.e. 15 marks) Remaining 85% of the marks are based on the subject of the paper (85 marks) There is a negative marking of one-third of the marks for MCQs carrying 1 marks each and for MCQs carrying 2 marks two-third of the marks are deducted. No negative marking for NAT questions. This is the standard question paper pattern that is to be followed in the GATE paper. It doesn’t matter which institute is organizing it, it remains the same. The question paper for GATE is set by a committee that comprises the faculties of IISc and all the IITs. So the difficulty level of the question paper is based on the committee which is involved in the making of the paper and not on the organizing institute of that year.  Read more

    Ans. The placement scenario of ME Computer Science at IISc is quite good. Almost 95% of students who register for placement from the Computer Science branch get placed at good companies with decent packages. Few students also go for higher studies. Some of the big companies visiting the campus are Amazon, Google, Xerox, Microsoft, eBay, Flipkart, Inmobi, IRL, SAMSUNG, Dell, IBM, GS, Intel plus other startups as well.  Most job profiles that are offered to the students of ME Computer Engineering are software developers or engineers. Students are also recruited for research, data science, and analyst jobs.  The placement cell of the institute is well developed and ensures lucrative packages to the deserving students. According to the placement highlights of 2020 at IISC Bangalore the average CTC offered was 10 LPA and the highest CTC was around 40 LPA.
