Gauhati University, Tezpur University, ASTU Guwahati and the affiliated colleges, including Gauhati Commerce College Guwahati, Jagiroad College Marigaon and Pragjyotish College Guwahati, admit on notified criteria without a national entrance test.

Ans. Gauhati University is the cheapest entry at 3.35 K, but that is a PG Diploma in Disability Management rather than an MBA. Tihu College Tihu at 6.00 K, Morigaon College Marigaon at 7.00 K and BARNC Sorbhog at 7.00 K are also PG diplomas. The cheapest full PGDM is Bhola Nath College Dhubri at 20.00 K, and the cheapest MBA degree is Gauhati University at 1.00 Lakh.

Ans. No. IIT Guwahati and NIT Silchar both file their two-year PG placement figures inside their Engineering returns, which mix MBA with MTech and MSc, so neither produces a programme-level MBA median. Tezpur University sits in the NIRF Management 101-150 band but publishes no accessible return. No Assam MBA college currently has a median that can be traced to a NIRF filing or an official report.

Ans. IIT Guwahati admits through JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling, while NIT Silchar and IIIT Guwahati admit on JEE Main through JoSAA and CSAB. The state colleges, including AEC Guwahati and ASTU Guwahati, fill their seats through CEE Assam counselling. Tezpur University and CIT Kokrajhar accept JEE Main alongside notified admission, and the private universities run their own selection.

Gauhati University, Assam University Silchar and Dibrugarh University admit on notified university criteria, and several accept CUET UG. The BCI-approved affiliated colleges, including NEF Law College Guwahati, JB Law College Guwahati, Dispur Law College Guwahati, Tezpur Law College Sonitpur and Jorhat Law College Jorhat, run their own notified admission.

Its placement base is thin, however, with 18 of 58 graduates placed, and no other Assam law college files a programme-level return.

Ans. Yes. Every candidate must qualify NEET UG and then take part in MCC All India Quota counselling or Assam state counselling, as applicable. All seven colleges are government, so there is no management or NRI quota route in the state, and there is no recognised direct-admission path.

Assam Medical College Dibrugarh at 1.20 Lakh and TMC Tezpur at 1.25 Lakh are the most expensive, and all seven are government colleges.

AIIMS Guwahati is a central Institute of National Importance, while GMCH Guwahati, Assam Medical College Dibrugarh, JMC Jorhat, SMC Silchar, TMC Tezpur and FAAMCH Barpeta are run by the state. Assam Medical College Dibrugarh is the oldest, established in 1947.

Ans. Yes. The compulsory rotating internship is paid at every recognised college in the state, but none of the Assam colleges currently publishes a stipend order of its own, so the rate is not verifiable from an official source. Candidates should confirm the current figure with the college at the time of admission.
