    IIM Sirmaur campus has been inaugurated by HRD Minister on Aigust 4, 2020 at Dhaulakuan Himachal Pradesh. The institute was established in 2015 under mentorship and guidance of the IIM Lucknow.     The first step in IIM Sirmaur selection process is appearing for CAT 2020 scheduled to take place on November 29, 2020. Candidates are further shortlisted to appear for  Written ability test and Personal interview round after which the final merit list comes after calculating a composite score of the candidate. IIM Sirmaur is the third generation IIM established by the HRD ministry of India. The institute is located in the heart of nature, Himachal Pradesh. IIM Sirmaur is spread over an area of 200 acres campus.

    IIM Sirmaur Eligibility Criteria

    IIM Sirmaur Eligibility Criteria 2020

    • Candidates who want to take admission in IIM Sirmaur should hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum percentage of marks or cgpa of 50% for general category and 45% for SC or ST or PWD category.
    • Candidates should be eligible to sit for CAT examination and must have qualified it with minimum percentile which is eligible for IIM Sirmaur.
    • Candidates who have got bachelor's degree marks in CGPA, their equivalence to determine PGP eligibility will be based on the equivalence certified by University or institution from where the candidate has acquired his or her bachelor's degree.
    • Candidates who have got bachelor's degree marks other than CGPA then the equivalent marks will be decided by IIM Sirmaur as per their guidelines.
    • Candidates who are in their final year of bachelor's degree or waiting for their results can also appear for admission in IIM Sirmaur 2020. Candidates with this situation have to produce a certificate from their institution or University through their principal or head of the department or registrar or director of institution or university clarifying that candidate is in its final year and is waiting for the result and must have scored at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA for general category and 45% marks or equivalent CGPA for SC or ST or PWD category.
    •  Candidates must have to submit a certificate from their institution or University through their principal or head of the department or registrar or director of institution or university clarifying that candidate is in its final year and is waiting for the result and must have scored at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA for general category and 45% marks or equivalent CGPA for SC or ST or PWD category.

    By 30 June to IIM Sirmaur, failing in submitting this document will make the candidate disqualified for further procedure.

    • Candidates who have received offer letters for admission in IIM Sirmaur have to submit their all documents by 30 June 2020. Failing in this procedure will automatically reject their admission.

    IIM Sirmaur Selection Process

    IIM Sirmaur Selection Process for 2020

    Admission for students in IIM Sirmaur is categorised into the following stages. 

    • Step 1 - To get selected to the first round of screening process candidates must have appeared for CAT 2019 and have secured a minimum percentile for selection in it. After appearing in CAT with minimum qualification score, the candidate will be able to appear for next round of admission in IIM Sirmaur.
    • Step 2 - Those who have applied for IIM Sirmaur will be qualified for the next round of admission that is a personal interview or PI and written ability test or WAT in IIM Sirmaur.
    • The final list will be out after the PI or personal interview round. It will be decided by the authority of IIM Sirmaur.
    • Those students who have applied for IIM Sirmaur and have qualified WAT or written ability test and PI or personal interview will get an offer letter for admission in IIM Sirmaur.
    • The final list is based on various criterias which include WAT, PI, past educational qualifications and marks, performance in CAT, work experience.
    • The final list of qualified students is out in May/June and admission starts from July.

    Foreign Students Selection Process in IIM Sirmaur

    The admission process under supernumerary quota for International students shall be conducted separately by the institute and shall have the following selection process: Eligibility criteria -

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification (from at least a three-year programme) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/Grades from a recognized university/institute after at least 12 years of school education. 

    • Valid GMAT/GRE Score (Taken within last 5 years) 

    • International student is one who is not a citizen of India. Selection Process 

    • The applicants shortlisted shall be invited for a personal interview via email. 

    • All invited applicants will have the option of interviewing at IIM Sirmaur campus or over remote video conferencing. 

    • Final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in GMAT, performance in Personal Interview, Academic performance, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, and work experience.

    Supernumerary seats for Girls students in IIM Sirmaur

    The admission process under supernumerary quota for girl students shall be conducted separately by the Institute and shall have the following selection parameters:

    Offer Acceptance fee, withdrawal and refund for admission in IIM Sirmaur

    A candidate getting admission offer from IIM Sirmaur shall be required to accept the offer within the specified time and date and shall need to deposit an offer acceptance amount @ Rs. 50,000/- through an online transaction to reserve the candidature. The amount so deposited shall be adjusted in the Term Fee at the time of Registration. 

    However, a candidate may wish to subsequently withdraw the offer up to a time limit as may be specified by the institute. In such case/s, the amount shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting the processing charge of Rs.1,000/- only. In the event of withdrawal from the Programme after Registration, No Refund of Offer Acceptance Amount and/or Term Fee will be made.

    Fee Structure of IIM Sirmaur

    Fee Structure of IIM Sirmaur

    The tuition fees for IIM Sirmaur will be Rs 11.75 lakhs for two years. In addition, the student has to pay Rs. 1,00,000/- in each term up to the fourth term for the International Immersion Programme and in the event the Immersion programme is not conducted, the cost of the fee charged for the immersion programme activity shall be adjusted against the term fee. The exact amount and details of the breakup will be given in the admission offer.

    Financial assistance for PhD students 

    There is no tuition fee for PhD students. Additionally, they will receive a stipend of Rs 30,000 per month for 5 years to cover their living expenses. The stipend is conditional on satisfactory progress during the duration. Students are required to be in attendance on a full-time basis and devote all their time to course- work and research, and are also required to provide teaching and research assistance. Other financial support made available to students include:

    Start-up grant (in Year 1) of Rs 60,000 to meet expenses on purchasing hardware, software, etc.

    Contingency grant (annual, in years 2-5) of Rs 25,000 to meet expenses on purchasing hardware, software, etc.

    Post-Proposal stipend increment: Rs. 2,000 i.e. Rs 32,000 as stipend per month.

    HRA for those who live off-campus, monthly: Rs. 5000

    National Conference grants of up to Rs. 20,000 per year from 1st year to 5th year which will be provided as per actuals and guidelines applicable.

    International Conference grants of Rs 2, 00,000 over 5 years which will be provided as per actuals and guidelines applicable.
