CAT 2020 IIM CALCUTTA CUTOFF AND SELECTION PROCESS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IIM Calcutta PGP-PGDM final shortlist has been released for the academic year 2020-2022. Authorities have not considered weightage given to Written Ability Test (WAT) and the process was dropped due to COVID-19 outbreak. Thus candidates were shortlisted out of a composite score of 90 insated of 100. IIM Calcutta takes into consideration CAT Cut Off, academic record, work experience and other parameters. The final selection is done through overall performance of the candidate. IIM Calcutta offers 2-year Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGP-PGDM) which is a full-time residential course. The course structure consists of the core curriculum, a summer internship and elective courses (optional).
After the result of CAT, IIMs will declare the separate cut off list for the shortlisted candidates. All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to take part in the selection process.

Candidates clearing CAT cut off will only be considered for calculation of their composite scores. The shortlisting of candidates for PI is done on the basis of a composite score.
The Composite Score is calculated on the basis of CAT score, Class 10 and Class 12 aggregate percentages and Gender Diversity Factor. The method of allotting points for class 10 and 12 percentages based on aggregate scores is mentioned below:

The composite cut-off score is used for short-listing the candidates for the PI stage in each category. The number of candidates shortlisted for the PI stage would be the discretion of the institute and would depend on the number of seats available.

Gender diversity component is applicable only for the pre-PI rank list for interview calls, and will not be applicable for phase 2 of the admissions process. It is further divided into- Academic and Gender.
The Academic Diversity Factor ensures diversity in academic streams and the Gender Diversity factor aims at a proper ratio of males to females, by awarding a certain percentage of marks to the female candidates.
The weightage of these factors varies depending on the institute.

Candidates based on their composite score will be called for the PI stage of the selection process that would comprise a Personal Interview (PI) and a Written Ability Test (WAT).
List X: BA, BA(H), B.Sc, B.Sc.(H), BS, B.Com, B.Com(H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other Non-Engineering bachelor’s degree not mentioned above.

The final selection list of CAT will be based on merit in each category, minimum qualification on the above-mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Calcutta.

Candidates are shortlisted for calculation of composite scores after they qualify CAT Cut Off. The overall CAT cut off required for IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria by a general category student is around 90 percentile.
