    Changes in Selection Process for PGP 2020-22 Batch

    IIM Nagpur had bought a modification in the final selection process for PGP 2020-22 batch. The two major revision in the admission process are:

    1. IIM Nagpur off cuts Written Ability Test Round: The institute has not conducted the Written Ability Test and has decided to off cut its 10% weightage in final selection process.
    1. PI Round hosted Online: All the candidates shortlisted in the list one and two were asked to give the online.

    Having made so many changes, IIM Nagpur has clarified, “Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, IIM Nagpur has made changes in its admissions process for the PGP 2020-22 batch to ensure the safety of all the stakeholders. All the Personal Interviews will now be conducted online, and the Written Ability Test (WAT) stands canceled.”

    IIM Nagpur have announced two shortlists for Personal Interview round to select candidates for PGP 2020-22 batch.

    The shortlist of the candidates was announced on March 5, 2020 and after this the candidates were asked to submit the application by March 23, 2020 to confirm their admission in IIM Nagpur.

    Shortlist No. 1: Announced on 2nd of April, 2020

    The first list of the shortlisted candidates for PGP 2020-22 admissions was sent through mails and the candidates who did not receive the mail were requested to wait till the first week of May for the further update regarding the announcement of the next shortlist. Candidates could easily log in through the links. And, the final selected candidates who were shortlisted had confirmed their presence for PI were contacted over email.

    The second list of the shortlisted candidates for PGP 2020-22 admissions was sent through mails as well as SMS. Candidates could easily log in through the links. And, the final selected candidates who were shortlisted had confirmed their presence for PI was contacted over email. Candidates had to confirm for PI by 9 AM on 9th May, 2020.

    • The shortlisting criteria for candidates is based on securing minimum section-wise and aggregate percentile scores in CAT examination.
    • Candidates obtaining a positive raw score in all sections of CAT-2019 will only be considered.
    • IIM Nagpur will send e-mail to all candidates who have applied to IIM Nagpur.The E-mail will have a link to a web page where the candidates must reconfirm for admission to PGP 2020 at IIM Nagpur.

    Selection in IIM Nagpur is a three step process

    • Pre shortlisting criteria
    • Short listing criteria for PI and WAT with 35% weightage of CAT score.
    • Final admission selection Criteria with PI andWAT with only 20% weightage of CAT score.

    IIM Nagpur not only selects through CAT score but also uses multiple parameters like academic performance in Class 10 and 12, bachelor’s degree.

    IIM Nagpur Final Selection Criteria

    • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round.
    • The final selection round of IIM Nagpur consists of Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
    •  However, for PGP 2020-22 admission the WAT component has been removed due to corona virus pandemic and only PI round is conducted online.
    • The selected candidates will receive confirmation through e-mail.
    • To confirm the acceptance the candidate has to pay fee of Rs.50,000.

    1. The eligibility criteria for IIM Nagpur are the requirement of bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case the candidate belongs to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%.
    1. The candidate should appear in the CAT exam and must score the minimum required marks to become eligible for admission at IIM Nagpur.
    1. If the candidates are given grades or CGPA instead of marks in their bachelor degree then the grades has to be converted by the university and then the total marks should be submitted by the candidates. In case the university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks then the IIM Nagpur would do the conversion.
    1. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree and also those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Nagpur. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the head of the department certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year and has obtained at least 50% marks or based on latest available marks.
    1. It is a compulsion for a final year student to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2020. The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2020.

    IIM Nagpur Acceptance Offer

    Submission of Application & Reconfirmation of Interest on the basis of CAT exam scores, the candidates who had indicated their interest in IIM Nagpur at the time of filling CAT application forms are first screened for eligibility as per the CAT cut-offs mentioned in table above.

    A. Filling Up the Application Form

    All the shortlisted candidates are invited to fill a detailed application form for admission. Only those candidates who complete the application form are considered for the preparation of the second round that is Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). It will be based on the calculation of Comprehensive Score (CS).

    B. Confirmation of interest

    All the candidates who are shortlisted are then asked asked to confirm their interest in attending the PI/WAT of IIM Nagpur. Only those candidates who send confirmation at this stage are scheduled for PI/WAT.

    Since, the admission offers in each IIM are independent of others and therefore accepting or rejecting an offer from any other IIM will not affect your chances in IIM Nagpur, or vice versa
