| Minimum Age | 17 years on or before December 31, 2027 |

NEET 2027 Educational Qualification
You must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. Students in their Class 12 year in 2026-27 can apply provisionally; admission will be confirmed only after they pass with the required subjects and marks.
Students who studied through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) or a state open board are eligible provided they passed the required subjects individually. Students from foreign boards must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) before admission.
Minimum Marks Required in Class 12 for NEET 2027
Your minimum aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) must meet the category-wise threshold set by NMC. General and EWS students need at least 50% in PCB; SC/ST/OBC students need 40%.
| Category | Minimum PCB Aggregate |
|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50% |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 40% |
| SC / ST | 40% |
| General – PwD | 45% |
| SC/ST/OBC – PwD | 40% |
Students appearing in Class 12 in 2027 may apply provisionally. If their final PCB aggregate falls below the required threshold, their NEET 2027 admission will stand cancelled.
NEET 2027 Number of Attempts
There is no limit on the number of times you can appear in NEET UG. The NMC withdrew the earlier three-attempt cap, and you can now appear in NEET every year as long as you satisfy the age and qualification criteria. This applies equally to all categories — General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST.
Students who were previously told they had exhausted their attempts under the old rule can re-apply freely. The year in which you first passed Class 12 does not restrict your eligibility to apply again.

NEET UG 2027 is open to Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals. There is no state-level domicile restriction for NEET UG; you can apply for seats in any state regardless of where you completed your schooling.
