To participate in the Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling, the candidates have to qualify for NEET 2026 and fulfil the educational and age-related requirements set by the DME, Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Rounds

The Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling will be conducted in 4 rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up round and stray vacancy rounds.

The candidates' selections, NEET score, rank, and reservation requirements will all be taken into consideration when allocating seats for NEET counselling.

Round Who Can Participate Process Highlights
Round 1 For all the eligible candidates Seat Allotment should be done based on rank and preference, including online registration, fee payment and choice filling. The candidate should go to the allotted college to confirm their seat.
Round 2 (Re-allotment) Wait-listed or upgraded candidates There will be no fresh registration; the preferences can be modified, and seats can be reallocated. The candidates who are satisfied with the seats can exit, and the others can still participate. Seat upgradation is allowed, and the security fees are applied.
Mop-Up Round All joined, wait-listed, or upgraded candidates Fresh registration is allowed for the remaining seats after Round 1 or Round 2. If the candidate is given the seat but chooses not to take it, there will be a penalty.
