Importance of July 2017 and August 2017 for CAT 2017

By now all the candidates, aiming for CAT 2017 must have begun their preparation. July and August is the time by when an appearing candidate is expected to have mastered (or at least revised) the basic concepts related to the topics asked in CAT exam.

Those candidates who have a good command over QA, DI and/or Verbal Ability and who just need to revise their concepts are also expected to have started their preparation by this time of the year. Considering that CAT 2017 will be held on the last Sunday of November 2017, July and August is the crucial juncture for candidates to brush up their concepts.

All top percentile scorers in previous year CAT exams, reiterate in unison that the last two months leading up to CAT exam must be dedicated to solving as many mock tests as possible (possibly one mock test every day).

To solve one mock test every day, a candidate needs to have mastered their concepts. Mastering concepts doesn’t mean that a candidate needs to have complete command over all the topics comprising the CAT Syllabus. What it essentially means that a candidate has read up on all related topics, practiced questions concerned with each related concept and is able to solve all major problems.

For all the candidates aiming to appear for CAT 2017, July 2017 and August 2017 is the time when they should be done with revising the basic concepts related to Quant, Data Interpretation, and Logical Reasoning. It is also expected that by this time the candidates have developed a fair speed of going through reading comprehension passages and must be thorough with current affairs.
