IIM Indore CAT Cutoff & Admission Criteria 2019

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore is an autonomous business school offers admission of Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGP) and Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) through CAT Exam.

After the declaration of CAT result, the institute will release its separate cut off list. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their CAT score are called for IIM Indore selection process which consists of WAT and PI rounds.

In 2018, CAT will be conducted on November 25 (Sunday) through computer-based mode. Candidates having bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks can apply on the official website of exam. The last date of CAT 2018 Registration is September 19, 2018. GMAT Score is accepted for foreign candidates.

IIM Indore Eligibility Criteria

Students who are going to apply for admission to management courses at Indian Institute of Mangement Indore are suggested to check the complete eligibility criteria prescribed by the Institute. IIM Indore Eligibility for PGP/ EPGP is given below:

  • Valid CAT Score
  • Graduation in any field and secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserved category candidates.
  • Conversion of CGPA and grades to an equivalent percentage of marks will be based on the procedure certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor’s degree has been obtained.
  • If the university/Institute does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks then it can be secured by multiplying the maximum CGPA by 100.
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally admitted, to submit the marksheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor’s degree examination held on or before June 30, 2018.

IIM Indore Selection Criteria 2019

IIM Indore Admission Criteria is structured on a 3 stage selection process- Clearing CAT Cutoff, WAT & PI and Final Selection. Participants should fulfill the admission criteria at each stage in order to get admission into the institute. The criterion of selection at each stage is stated below.

Stage 1: Clearing CAT Cutoff

IIM Indore will shortlist eligible aspirants on the basis of their performance in CAT. Students must clear both the sectional and overall cut off. The table given below represents CAT Cut Off for admission in 2018-20 academic sessions in IIM Indore.

Stage 2: Computation of Composite Score for Short-listing for WAT & PI

Aspirants who clear CAT cut off for IIM Indore will be considered for calculation of the composite score. The composite score is utilized for selecting meritorious students for the PI stage held by the institute.

Separate merit lists will be generated for each category indicating the names of aspirants selected for the WAT & PI stage. The number of candidates moving forward to the next stage will depend on the number of seats available for the course.

The following method is adopted for calculating composite score:

The composite score is computed after taking various factors into account such as:

  • Individual’s past academic records (class 10 and 12 aggregate)
  • Gender Diversity Factor (GDF)
  • CAT Scores.

Weightage assigned to corresponding components for short-listing candidates for PI stage:

Note: Zcandidate, Zmin, Zmax for 10th Standard/ SSC Score and 12th Standard/ HSC Score are computed using the normalisation process.

About IIM Indore WAT/PI 

It is mandatory for the shortlisted candidates to attend both WAT & PI rounds.

  • Students will have to write an essay on a topic given by the institute in 30 minutes.
  • In Personal Interview (PI), the panel will evaluate an individual’s academic performance, work quality and other personal characteristics.
  • IIM Indore will assess the consistency in performance of students in different parameters of the PI.
  • It conducts admission interviews in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai only.
  • The Institute reserves the right to change the centers at any time if the situation so warrants.

IIM Indore Merit List

Candidates who will successfully qualify all the rounds of selection are only considered for final selection. The final composite score will be calculated after considering the performance of individuals in WAT & PI stage. IIM Indore will release category wise merit lists based on these scores. Provisional admission offers will be made to successful students adhering to reservation norms.

IIM Indore Reservation Policy

Reservation is applicable in IIM Indore as per norms stated by the Government of India. The following table represents the reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories meeting IIM Indore admission requirements:

Note: 3% seats are reserved for differently abled candidates as per the provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995. This provision is applicable only if the individual suffers from the disability to an extent of not less than 40% as certified by a medical authority.

IIM Indore Scholarship Scheme

IIM Indore offers scholarships to meritorious candidates who have done exceptionally well in their academics. The institute also provides need-based financial aid to aspirants especially of the reserved category whose annual income from all sources is up to INR 4.50 lakhs.

The PGP Office of IIM Indore will provide details on scholarships administered by the Institute to all candidates after final admission.
