Government Medical College, Patiala was started in 1953 at Patiala. The foundation stone of the college building was laid by the then President of India, Dr Rajendra Prashad. The college now offers various courses in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college also provides hostel facility to both girls and boys. The college houses some basic amenities like swimming pool, gym, auditorium, etc.
