    How to Get Admission in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla?

    Candidates aspiring to pursue MBBS course at IGMC, Shimla must have cleared NEET 2020. The admission is completely based on the rank secured in NEET 2020. Counselling for NEET is conducted through Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). For going through the counselling process, one has to register on the website of MCC and fill their choices in order of the college they desire.

    Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla Admission Eligibility Criteria

    The college has an annual intake of 100 students for aspirants of graduate medical course, MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) on the basis of NEET. Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

    • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
    • Age Limit: Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31, 2020
    • Essential Academic Qualification: Candidates who have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology individually securing a minimum of 50% in 10+2 is eligible. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), there is a relaxation of 10% so they have to secure a minimum of 40% to be eligible. General physically handicapped candidates have to secure a minimum of 45%. Aspirants who are appearing in 10+2 examination in 2020 may also appear provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later on.

    If two or more candidates have equal score in the exam, preference will be given to

    • Candidate having higher marks in Biology/Biotechnology in NEET UG-2020
    • Candidate having higher marks in Chemistry in NEET UG-2020
    • Candidate older in age.
