NEET 2026 category rank refers to your rank within a specific reserved category. The category rank of the candidate is mentioned on the NEET scorecard, along with the AIR. The category is classified into – General (Unreserved), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). 

  • All India Rank (AIR) refers to your overall rank among all candidates who appeared for NEET 2026.
  • Category Rank shows you position among candidates of the same category. 
  • According to the report, NEET Topper 2026 AIR 1 was obtained by Aryan Gupta and the score was around 715 out of 720.
  • A total of 19 candidates scored above 700 out of 720.
  • Students scoring above 710-715 are sure to get an MBBS seat in top AIIMS, including AIIMS Delhi.
  • According to the press release,138 candidates scored above 690 marks out of 720.

Candidates from reserved categories can avail the NEET reservation facility based on the Government of India guidelines under 15% AIQ and 85% state quota seats by individual states.
