Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018

Directorate of Medical Education, Assam will be conducting Assam MBBS 2018 counselling tentatively from June 25 to July 5, 2018. The counselling of Assam MBBS 2018 will be conducted for 85% State Quota seats which include approximately 611 seats in medical colleges and 16 seats in dental colleges. The seats will be allotted on the merit-cum-preference basis so the candidates are advised to choose colleges according to their score in NEET 2018.

  • There will be two rounds of Assam MBBS 2018 counselling and a mop-up will be conducted if the seats remain vacant.
  • The counselling will be conducted in offline mode.
  • The candidates will get the option to choose courses and colleges in the application form which will be submitted during the counselling of Assam MBBS 2018.
  • The Admission in various institutes through each quota will be done on the basis of Merit List prepared. On the basis of NEET Scores, NEET Merit List will be prepared.. 
  • Before the commencement of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling, a centralized NEET Counselling will be conducted for 15% AIQ.

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling Dates

The state medical authority will conduct Medical counselling for 85% of the total available seats. The Counselling will expectantly start in the month of July 2018. Notification regarding the commencement of counselling will be released at dmeassam.gov.in and same will be updated at Collegedunia.com. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 are required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. The Eligibility mentioned is mandatory and candidates failing to meet any of the listed criteria will be removed from the process.

Nationality

  • The applicant should be registered citizen of Assam.
  • The parent of the candidates must be living in Assam for not less than 20 years.
  • The above condition will not be applicable to son/daughter of officers of All India Services working in Assam.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 standard.
  • Applicant must have passed 10+2 with 60% aggregate marks and for the candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC the minimum required marks are 50%.
  • The applicant must have studied from class 6 to 10 in the state of Assam.
  • The candidate must have appeared and qualified NEET 2018.

Age

  • Candidate must not be above 24 years or below 17 years of age on December 31, 2018.
  • For SC/ST Candidates: The upper age limit mentioned above is relaxed by 3 year.

Reservation of Seat 

Selection in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 will be made under 5 categories namely OC, SC, ST (Plains), ST (Hills) and PH reservations following the rules of reservation of the Government of Assam as follows. The Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to listed categories. The remaining 60% of the seats are open for unreserved applicants. Candidates claiming reservation under certain categories are required to present original document supporting their claim.

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling Registration

The application form of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 will be available in the online mode. Below are the steps applicants need to follow to fill the application form-

  1. Go to dmeassam.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018” link
  3. Read all the instruction and click on “Apply Now”
  4. Provide details like personal, academic, address and others
  5. Also, the candidates need to upload the scanned image of their photograph and signature.
  6. Verify your details and proceed to “Submit”
  7. After successfully submitting the online application form, candidates need to take print out of the e-challan and deposit requisite fee in any branch of State Bank of India.
  8. It is to be noted that the candidates will have to deposit INR 1240 (along with bank charges INR 60) as application fee on the second working day after the successful submission of the application form.
  9. The applicant will receive the copy of challan showing the transaction Id after the submission of fee.
  10. Also, it is advised to the candidates to take the print out of the Assam MBBS/BDS 2018 Application Form.
  • The size of the photograph should be between 35Kb to 20Kb
  • Size of signature should be between 30Kb to 15Kb.
  • The format of the signature and photograph should either be .jpeg or .jpg
  • After filling all the details login ID of the candidate will be created.
  • The candidates are advised to keep the password carefully created at the time of making login ID.
  • The login ID and password will be used further to login into the Assam MBBS 2018 Application Form

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling Process

DME Assam will conduct Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 for registered candidates only. Counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds. At the end of each round, candidates will be allotted seats as per their choices and position in merit list. Here are some important points and guidelines regarding Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018.

  1. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling will be organized in the offline mode
  2. The candidate participating in the counselling procedure need to fill the separate application form (form B).
  3. The candidates will have to pay INR 500 as the counselling fee.
  4. The candidates need to be present with all the necessary documents before the admission committee.
  5. As per the merit list and order of the preference, the seat will be allocated to the candidate.
  6. The candidate will have to pay the counselling fee in the interview round.

Documents Required in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018

Below are the documents required to be produced at the time of the verification.

  • The Candidates need to bring Form – B in the original duly and properly filled in along with all relevant annexure certificate attached with Form-’B’
  • NEET 2018 Rank card
  • NEET 2018 Admit Card
  • Class 10 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Recent passport-size photograph (4 copies)
  • Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (to be issued by D.C./S.D.O. (Civil) of concerning District/Sub-Division)
  • Academic Gap Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)

Note: A set of all the documents mentioned above has to be submitted by the candidates. These documents should be self-attested by the candidates.
