JEE Main 31 Jan Shift 2 2024 Detailed Analysis
NTA has successfully concluded JEE Main 31 Jan Shift 2 paper. According to the students, overall difficulty level of the question paper was moderate.
- Mathematics: In Mathematics, the difficulty level was moderate, covering all chapters with a notable emphasis on Calculus. Multiple questions were asked from Matrices & Determinants, 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Circle. Various chapters, including Permutation & Combination, Complex Numbers, Statistics, Progressions, Quadratic Equations, Function, Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, were also featured. The Numerical Section involved extensive calculations, particularly in Calculus & Coordinate Geometry, with a few questions reported as lengthy and tricky.
- Physics: Physics was categorized as easy to moderate, with more weightage given to Electrostatics & Current Electricity. Other chapters included Kinematics, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, SHM, Laws of Motion, Magnetism, Ray Optics, Capacitance, Modern Physics, Work Power & Energy, and Heat & Thermodynamics. Numerical-based questions were lengthy, and some fact-based questions from class XII chapters of NCERT were included.
- Chemistry: Chemistry was reported as easy, with Organic & Physical Chemistry receiving more weightage than Inorganic Chemistry. Questions were asked from various chapters, including Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Coordination Compounds, p-block elements, Solutions, Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics, General Organic Chemistry, Alcohol, Ether & Phenol, Biomolecules, Amines, Aryl & Alkyl halides. Numerical-based questions were mostly from Physical Chemistry.

After the conclusion of JEE Main 2024 Session 1, NTA is going to release JEE Main 2024 answer key PDF on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. First provisional answer key will be released which will be open for challenges, if any. Once all the objections raised have been scrutinized, NTA is going to release the final JEE Main 2024 Answer Key.
These final answer key will be used to calculate JEE Main Result 2024. JEE Main result 2024 date is February 12, 2024. Candidates aiming for admission to NITs, must score 200+ marks. Candidates aiming for admission to IITs, must score 90%ile and above to be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.
NTA is also going to begin JEE Main registration 2024 session 2 from February 2, 2024. Those who are interested to appear for JEE Main 2024 April session can register online from February 2 to March 2. JEE Main April session is scheduled from April 1 to April 15.
