JEE Main B.Arch and B.Planning Result for March session is expected to be released anytime soon now. The result for the February session has been released by NTA on March 18, 2021. To access JEE Main 2021 Result, candidates will need to provide their application number and password/date of birth. For candidates who have appeared for multiple sessions of JEE Main 2021, the result will be prepared on the basis of normalised scores of those attempts.

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan Result: Highlights

  • JEE Main Result 2021 will provide compiled scores of all the sessions. Therefore, NTA will consider the best of raw scores for JEE Main from both attempts to prepare JEE Main 2021 Merit List.
  • The Examination Authority will not send hard copies of JEE Main Paper 2 and paper 3 results or rank cards by post and candidates have to download their results through their JEE Main 2021 applicant account only.
  • The Aspirants will be given All India Rank (AIR) only after the announcement of JEE Main Result Paper 2 for the May session.
  • The All India Rank List will be prepared on the basis of normalised scores of all sessions.

Steps to download JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan Result

Candidates check check their JEE Main Paper 2 and Paper 3 result by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of JEE Main 2021 i.e. jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the link and select result of JEE Main B.Arch/B.Plan

Step 3: Now candidates will have to provide their JEE Main Application number and password/date of birth.

Step 4: Click on “Submit:.

Step 5: The Result will be displayed on screen containing details such as name of the candidate, marks secured in each subject, total score, Category Rank etc.

Step 6: Download the Result

Step 7: After successfully downloading the result, then candidates need to take a printout of it for future reference.

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan Result: Points to remember

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch/B.Plan result will be announced online. No other mode will be used by the conducting authorities to convey the results to the candidates.

  • For preparing the rank list of JEE Main B.Arch/B.Plan paper 2021, Class XII marks will not be considered for normalization. As the inclusion of Class XII marks for normalisation has been scrapped from 2017.
  • The result will be compiled on the basis of the final answer key released by the NTA Authorities.
  • All India Rank (AIR) secured by the candidates will be used for admission into institutes like NITs, IITs and CFTIs through Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
  • Other Institutes/colleges who will be accepting JEE Main ranks for admission but are not part of the centralised admission process will release their own rank list as per their criteria.

Compilation of JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan Result

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch & B.Plan result is declared in the form of scorecards. In the scorecard, students can check their section-wise percentile and the overall percentile score. The method of compilation of results for both the papers i.e. B.Arch and B.Plan is the same, even if two separate papers are conducted for both the courses.

The compilation is done in following stages for B.Arch and B.Plan paper:

  • Calculation of raw marks using the marking scheme of JEE Main 2021.
  • Conversion of raw marks into NTA score/percentile score for all sections separately and for overall score.
  • Allotting All India Rank (AIR) based on the NTA score/percentile score of the candidate. If two or more candidates get the NTA percentile score, tie-breaking methodology is applied.

Note: If NTA scores obtained by all the candidates who appeared in first and second sessions both are merged for the compilation of results and preparation of overall AIR. Also, the best of the two NTA scores are considered for allotting AIR.

How is NTA Score is calculated for JEE Main B.Arch/B.Plan Paper

The NTA scores are prepared from raw score by using the formula given below:

Note: The percentile/NTA score is calculated for the result as JEE Main B.Arch and B.Plan is held over multiple shifts, and the percentile score is calculated. This brings out any irregularity in difficulty level throughout the shifts. This, in turn, provides a fairer compilation of the result.

Calculation of raw score: The raw score is calculated on the basis of the marking scheme of the exam. The formula for calculating the raw score is given below:

JEE Main Raw Score = 4 X Number of Correct Answers - 1 X Number of Incorrect Answers
Tie-Breaking Methodology

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan Result: Tie-Breaking Methodology

There may be some situations when two or more candidates secure the same score in JEE Main 2021 B.Arch or B.Plan Result. The inter-se-merit will be considered by the authorities during such circumstances. Although the method of compilation of the result is the same for both B.Arch and B.Plan paper, the tie-breaking process is a bit different for them. In order to break the tie for admissions, the following steps will be taken into consideration:

For B.Arch:

  • Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in Mathematics will be given higher AIR.
  • Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in General Aptitude Test will be considered next.
  • Candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in the Drawing Test will be ranked higher.
  • Fourthly, even if the tie remains, then candidates older in age will be ranked higher.
  • Atlast, If the resolution is still not possible, then candidates will be ranked the same.

For B.Plan:

  • Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in Mathematics will be given higher AIR.
  • Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in General Aptitude Test will be considered next.
  • Candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in the Planning Test will be ranked higher.
  • Fourthly, even if the tie remains, then candidates older in age will be ranked higher.
  • Atlast, If the resolution is still not possible, then candidates will be ranked the same.

JEE Main 2021 B.Arch/B.Plan Answer Key

The final answer key of JEE Main Paper 2 for the first session will be released by the authorities by the end of February, 2021. Aspirants can match their answers and calculate their probable scores. Candidates can download JEE Main 2021 answer keys for February session in pdf format by entering their login credentials before the stipulated date. Through JEE Main Answer key candidates can match their correct and incorrect answers and calculate their probable scores to be secured in the examination.

The Participating Institutes offer a total of 824 UG seats for B.Arch course and 133 seats for B.Plan course. However for admission in Bachelor of Architecture at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee, candidates have to appear in the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) after JEE Advanced 2021. The candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021 in order to be eligible to appear in AAT.

The Candidates who will qualify the entrance examination will be allowed to participate in JoSAA Counselling. JEE Main 2021 Counselling is conducted by JoSAA/CSAB in online mode. Ans. JEE Main 2021 Score is used to prepare All India Rank (AIR) List and State Merit Lists on the basis of which seats were allocated to NITs, IIITs and other Central and State Government funded institutes.

Ques. What is Normalization of Marks in JEE Main 2021?

Ans. The normalization criteria for the examination is as follows:

  • Calculation of normalized marks is done without considering the Class XII marks.
  • Candidates with 75% marks (65% for reserved categories) in Class XII will qualify for JEE Advanced.
  • Candidates within the top 20 percentile in their state board also qualify for JEE Main Counselling.
  • Normalization is calculated with the number of candidates in the group with aggregate marks less than the candidate divided by the total number of candidates and multiplied by 100.

JEE Main exam is conducted for admission to B.Tech/B.E, and architecture courses and there will be different papers for that. Counselling however is common for all 3 papers conducted by JoSAA in online mode. There will be 3 process for counselling as following:

Hi Bhumika, No there will be single process for both B.Planning and B.Arch. After declaration of JEE Main reuslts, there will be 3 types of counselling as below:

  • JoSAA counselling for admisison to IITs and NITs
  • CSAB NEUT for supernumerary seats in north east and UT s
  • CSAB SFTI for self financing technical institutes
