JEE Main 2027 is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) in two sessions. Each session has a separate application form. The form is available on jeemain.nta.nic.in, and you apply entirely online. How to Fill JEE Main 2027 Application Form
Follow these steps in order. Do not close the browser between steps.
- Open the official website. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in. Look for the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration link on the home page and click it.
- Register and get your Application Number. Enter your name exactly as it appears in your Class 10 certificate. Provide your date of birth, mobile number, and email address. NTA will send an OTP to verify both. After verification, you will receive your Application Number. Write it down straight away. You will need it for every future step.
- Fill in your details and choose your paper. Log in with your Application Number and password. Fill in your personal details, your parents’ details, contact information, and your Class 12 academic details. Choose the paper you want: Paper 1 (B.E. or B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), Paper 2B (B.Planning), or a combination. Select the medium for the question paper and enter four exam city preferences in order of preference.
- Upload your photo and signature. Upload your passport-size photograph in JPEG format (10 KB to 200 KB, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, white background). Then upload your signature in JPEG format (4 KB to 30 KB, white background). Check that both images are clear before you upload.
- Pay the application fee. Select your payment method: debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Refer to the fee table above for the correct amount based on your category and paper choice. After payment, wait for the confirmation screen. Do not press the back button during payment.
- Download the confirmation page. NTA shows a confirmation page after successful payment. Download it as a PDF, save it on your device, and take a printout. NTA does not send this page by email, so download it immediately.
JEE Main 2027 Correction Window
NTA opens a correction window for a few days after the last date to apply. The Session 1 correction window is expected around 25 to 28 Nov 2026 (Tentative). You can log in and make limited changes during this period.
What you can change
- Exam city preferences
- Paper choice
- Medium of the question paper
- Category (in some cases, with supporting documents)
- Photograph and signature (if your earlier upload was not accepted)
What you cannot change
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Application Number
- Registered mobile number
- Registered email address
NTA does not allow any corrections after the window closes. If you need to fix something that is not allowed in the correction window, you will need to apply fresh in the next session.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Name mismatch: Enter your name exactly as it appears in your Class 10 certificate, including initials and spelling. A mismatch can cause rejection at the exam centre.
- Wrong photo: Use a recent photo with a white background. A dark background, an old photo, or an unclear image will be rejected by the system.
- Wrong signature: Do not scan a printed signature. Sign on white paper with a dark pen, then photograph or scan it clearly.
- Not saving the confirmation page: NTA does not email the confirmation page. Download it as soon as your payment goes through.
- Paying the wrong fee: Check your category and number of papers before you pay. Paying the wrong amount may affect your application.
- City preferences in wrong order: You will be assigned an exam city based on your preferences and availability. Put your most preferred city first.
- Submitting a second application for the same session: If you spot a mistake after submitting, wait for the correction window. Do not fill a fresh form for the same session.
How to Apply for Both Sessions
Session 1 and Session 2 each have a separate application form. One application covers only one session. When Session 2 forms open in February 2027 (Tentative), you must apply again on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
When you apply for Session 2, NTA will ask whether you appeared in Session 1. If you did, enter your Session 1 Application Number. NTA will then consider your best percentile from both sessions when it prepares the final merit list.
You can apply for Session 2 even if you did not appear in Session 1. If you are satisfied with your Session 1 result, you do not need to apply for Session 2.
