JEE Main 2027 Exam Date: Session 1 Expected in January, Session 2 in April, NTA Notification Due in October

The JEE Main 2027 exam date has not yet been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2027 notification by the first or second week of October 2026, along with the Session 1 and Session 2 exam dates and registration details.

Based on the schedule followed in previous years:

• The JEE Main 2027 notification is expected in the last week of October 2026 on jeemain.ntAns.nic.in.
• Registration for Session 1 is expected to open in late October and close in late November 2026.
• JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exam is expected in the last week of January 2027.
• JEE Main 2027 Session 2 exam is expected in the first week of April 2027.
• Candidates should keep Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, a photograph and a signature scanned before registration opens.
• Candidates targeting NITs, IIITs and GFTIs should complete the syllabus by November and then focus on mock tests.

Note: In JEE Main 2026 Session 1, 13,04,653 candidates appeared out of 13,55,293 registered, an attendance of 96.26%.

• NTA has held Session 1 in late January and Session 2 in early April for four consecutive cycles. The JEE Main 2027 schedule below is projected from those cycles.
• From September 4, 2026, Session 1 is about 143 days away, and Session 2 is about 213 days away.

Where to Check JEE Main 2027 Exam Date Update

Candidates can check the latest JEE Main 2027 exam date updates through the official websites of NTAns. The exact schedule will be available once NTA releases the JEE Main 2027 notification.

JEE Main 2027 Notification Date: Previous Year Trend

The JEE Main 2026 notification came 94 days before the first exam day.

In 2025, the gap was 86 days. Following this trend, the JEE Main 2027 notification is expected by the end of October 2026.

The JEE Main 2027 information bulletin is expected to confirm the following details.

• NTA will list the exact exam days for both sessions in the bulletin.
• Registration opening and closing dates will be given for each session.
• The application fee for each category will be confirmed.
• The list of exam cities in India and abroad will be published.
• Any change to the JEE Main 2027 syllabus will be stated.
• The Class 12 marks rule for NIT and IIIT admission will also be given.

NTA publishes the JEE Main 2027 exam dates in the information bulletin. Candidates can check the dates in six steps.

1. Visit the official website at jeemain.ntAns.nic.in.
2. Open the Public Notice or Latest News section on the homepage.
3. Click the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin link once it is released.
4. Open the Important Dates section inside the bulletin PDF.
5. Check the exam dates listed for Session 1 and Session 2.
6. Download the bulletin and save a copy for the correction window.

JEE Main 2027 Registration and Application Fee

JEE Main 2027 registration is expected to open with the notification and stay open for about a month. The correction window follows in early December and is the only chance to fix the form.

• JEE Main Session 1 registrations have risen every year since 2022. Attendance has stayed above 95% since 2023.
• Registrations grew by about 3.3 lakh in four years. With attendance above 95%, the registered figure is close to the actual number of competitors.

JEE Main 2027: What Candidates Should Do Before the Notification

Candidates should keep the following ready before the JEE Main 2027 form opens.

• A scanned passport-size photograph and signature are required in the size given by NTAns.
• The Class 10 certificate is required as proof of date of birth.
• The Class 12 marksheet is required, or the roll number for candidates appearing in 2027.
• SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwD candidates must upload a valid category certificate.
• A valid email ID and mobile number must stay active through the whole cycle.
