JEE Main 2027 Registration Documents Required: Full Checklist

JEE Main 2027 registration requires a recent passport-size photograph, scanned signature, Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 certificate or enrollment proof, a valid government-issued ID, and category certificates — all ready in the correct file format before you open the form.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) opens JEE Main 2027 registration on its official portal, expected in October–November 2026. Many students find their form incomplete or flagged simply because they uploaded the wrong file size or format. Knowing the exact document requirements before you start saves time and prevents a rejected application.

• Your passport-size photograph must be in JPEG format, 10 KB–200 KB, on a white background.
• Your Class 10 marksheet is the only accepted proof of date of birth for JEE Main.

Academic Documents Required

Keep these academic documents ready before you open the JEE Main 2027 registration form:

• Class 10 marksheet or passing certificate — mandatory for date-of-birth verification. NTA does not accept any other document for this purpose.
• Class 12 marksheet — required if you have already passed Class 12 (2025 or 2026 batch). Students appearing in Class 12 in 2027 must provide proof of school enrollment or a school-issued certificate confirming they are appearing.
• Class 12 board roll number — you must enter this during registration for board-level verification by NTA.

Eligibility note: Students who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 and those appearing in 2027 are eligible for JEE Main 2027. Students who passed in 2024 or earlier are not eligible under the standard two-consecutive-year rule. Any change to this criterion will be announced in the official JEE Main 2027 information bulletin.

Photo and Signature Specifications

Your photograph and signature are uploaded directly during form filling. An incorrect file size or background color will get your application flagged. Follow NTA’s prescribed specifications exactly:

Your face must be clearly visible, front-facing, with no cap or sunglasses. Spectacles are allowed. Avoid studio filters that alter background color or skin tone. If the photo has your name and the date printed at the bottom, that is acceptable per NTA guidelines.

Valid ID Proof Accepted

You must enter your ID number during registration and carry the same document to the exam center on the day of the test. NTA accepts the following as valid photo ID:

• Aadhaar Card — preferred by NTA for the smoothest verification process
• Passport
• Voter ID Card
• Driving Licence
• PAN Card
• Ration Card with photograph
• School or College ID Card with photograph (for students without other government IDs)

Students from Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya without an Aadhaar card can use a passport, ration card, bank account passbook, or any other valid government-issued photo ID. This provision has been confirmed in NTA guidelines each year and is expected to continue for JEE Main 2027.

Category and Reservation Documents

If you are applying under a reserved category, select the correct category in the registration form. You do not upload the certificate during registration — but it must be produced at the time of JoSAA or CSAB counselling for seat allotment verification.

OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be valid and current at the time of counselling (expected June–July 2027 based on past trends). Certificates that expire before counselling will not be accepted. Get fresh certificates issued close to the counselling dates to avoid seat cancellation.

Documents for PwD Students

Students with benchmark disabilities who want to claim PwD reservation or apply for a scribe and compensatory time must note the following requirements:

• PwD certificate must be issued by a competent medical authority — a government hospital, SADAREM, or equivalent. It must clearly state the type and percentage of disability. A minimum 40% disability is required to claim PwD benefits.
• Scribe or compensatory time must be selected during the JEE Main 2027 registration form itself. This option cannot be added or changed after form submission. If you need either facility, mark "Yes" for PwD and indicate the requirement during registration.
• Selecting PwD without a valid certificate during counselling will result in seat cancellation. Only mark PwD if you have a valid certificate from a recognized authority.
